The Stars of AMC’s The Killing Land Movie Gigs

Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman, the Homicide cops trying to solve AMC’s “The Killing”, have both landed cushy movie roles.

Enos, who plays the tough but vulnerable Sarah Linden, the lead cop on the show, is currently in talks to play Brad Pitt’s wife in “World War Z”, Paramount Pictures’ epic zombie movie based on the book by Max Brooks. “World War Z” was in trouble for a while there, but seems to have righted itself with a new investor.

Meanwhile, Linden’s partner on the show, Stephen Holder aka actor Joel Kinnaman, has landed a gig on Daniel Espinosa’s currently shooting “Safe House”, where he’ll join Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, along with the recently cast Vera Farmiga. Kinnaman will play “a man who operates a safe house where Reynolds and Washington show up.” Espinosa and Kinnaman previously worked together on their mutual breakthrough film “Snabba Cash”, the movie that got them both noticed by Hollywood.

Good for them. So far I’m pretty into “The Killing”, it’s a nice, tense take on a police procedural. And because I live in Seattle, where the show it set, and it was filmed largely Vancouver, I like to play rounds of “Seattle or Vancouver” while I watch the show.
