I ignored THE TATTOOIST several times before finally bringing it home, and echoing your sentiments - was not sorry at all. With the exception of the climax that is sort of a cop-out, the movie is thoroughly entertaining, and holds your attention from the get-go. It also doesn't hurt that non-A-listers actually deliver reasonably good performances. And it was a similar reaction from friends who checked it out.
I think it may have something to do with the screaming title, and the straight-to-video-attractive-cover that deters seasoned movie-buffs from picking this little gem. Highly recommended!
