The Tekken Movie Finally Gets an Official Poster

The game was okay, but I’m not generally a big fan of these tournament fighting movies. For the most part, they’re poor excuse for movies, basically some bullshit storyline strung together just to justify the film’s many, many fight scenes. Then again, if you’re going to adapt a fighting arcade game into a movie, I suppose that’s all you really need to do — excuses for fighting. Haven’t heard about the “Tekken” movie in a while, but Warner Bros’ Japan has finally released the official poster, which features the character Jin Kazama, played by Jon Foo.

The film co-stars Luke Goss, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Cung Le, Chiaki Kuriyama, Gary Daniels, Ian Anthony Dale, Tamlyn Tomita, Kelly Overton, Mircea Monroe, Lateef Crowder, Candice Hillebrand, Gary Ray Stearns, Marian Zapico, and is directed by Dwight H. Little.

all characters looks just like the game:)

this could be the first video game adaptation movie that lives up to the game!

I think they should have used the guy from Tom Yum Goong to play Eddy, but still this guy looks like Eddy.

they did get the guy from tom yum goong to play eddy, as well as the big guy from the same movie to play marduk and the kid with the sword to play jin.

Hey whatever, not like most jackie chan and jet li movies had credible stories. As long as the action is good (ie can actually see what’s going on) and the story isn’t completely stupid then it’s all good.

hey where’s the bruce lee ripoff character Law? Or the jaguar head wearing wrestler King?

Vid, not every Tekken character has to be in the movie, besides they’ll probably appear for a brief moment or something

Just like every other fighting game that has been turned into a movie, this one will be horrific. The people casted look nothing like the characters at all, i mean they really don’t. I was a huge fan of this franchise and if done right this COULD have been awesome because unlike many other fighting games this actually has a fairly deep storyline ( for a fighting game ). This would have been cool if it was approached like it wasn’t a fighting game, but the fact that it was tells just what to expect; A film that is driven by and focused on random fights to compensate for a lack of story and acting, just like all of its predecessors..some may say “duh, thats what i want, its Tekken” i say ” Great another film thats helping prove the negetive stereotype of videogame movies”..Many games could have been made into killer films, but you have writters and directors that have never played the games trying to adapt them into films…

OKay I’m sorry what poster are you looking at?? I’ve seen pics and everyone looks great. Not EXACTLY like the game, but as close as you can get. Basically it’s like the Batman costume in all the movies, Looks nothing like the comic but it’s hitting all the right notes. At least this has real martial artists in it and they’re taking it seriously, not like “DOA” or “Street Fighter.” This looks to be more like “Mortal Kombat” where they took what made it fun and then made it real…or as close as you can get. ALso Tekken is the closest thing you’re going to get to an actual story in a fighting game other than MK and Soul Blade/Soul Calibur (which should get an anime), and they’re sticking pretty close to that story. WOuld you like them to just make one up like they’re doing for the super crappy “King of Fighters” flick where NO ONE looks the part? No this one actually looks like they did their homework. Devil gene? CHeck! Iron Fist Tournment? Check. Mishima family line? Check! Unfortunately no King, or Lee, but Law Is in played by Cung Le. So yeah, now that I’ve seen this poster I can’t wait.
