I’m not a very intellectual guy when it comes to the world of motion pictures, so pardon me for a moment while I pine for the days when filmmaker David Cronenberg violently explored the physical horrors of the human body. Alas, those days seem to be behind us, as the “Rabid” director has turned his sights to much more serious fare as of late. And while I do think that “A Dangerous Mind” — a film about the birth of psychoanalysis and the relationship between pioneers Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung — certainly looks interesting, but the guy who secretly watches “Videodrome” once a year wishes Cronenberg would deliver the sort of deranged visceral experience I had grown accustomed to.
But enough about that! You didn’t come here to listen to me bitch and moan about the ambitions of a critically-acclaimed director. The first trailer for “A Dangerous Method” is hanging out just below these words, and truth be told, it looks pretty darn swift. The film opens in the UK on February 10th, 2012.
