The Transporter vs. The Commish in First Trailer for Jason Statham’s Parker

Jason Statham in Parker (2013) Movie Image

With a little dose of Jenny from the block sprinkled in here and there (and possibly a shower scene, though I can’t be sure that’s actually her in that second-long shot). Anyways, check out your first look at “Parker”, which finds Statham playing a bad guy who isn’t really a bad guy. Yes, he steals and shoots people, but they all had it coming. That’s his story and he’s sticking to it. By the way, does Statham bring his own clothes to these movies? I swear, the guy wears that basic suit and tie set-up in all the movies where he’s the undisputed star. Must be a trademark or something.

Parker (Jason Statham) is a professional thief who lives by a personal code of ethics: Don’t steal from people who can’t afford it and don’t hurt people who don’t deserve it. But on his latest heist, his crew double crosses him, steals his stash, and leaves him for dead. Determined to make sure they regret it, Parker tracks them to Palm Beach, playground of the rich and famous, where the crew is planning their biggest heist ever. Donning the disguise of a rich Texan, Parker takes on an unlikely partner, Leslie (Jennifer Lopez), a savvy insider, who’s short on cash, but big on looks, smarts and ambition. Together, they devise a plan to hijack the score, take everyone down and get away clean.

“Parker” also stars Nick Nolte, Michael Chiklis, Wendell Pierce, Clifton Collins Jr., Sala Baker, Daniel Bernhardt, and is directed by Taylor Hackford.

    No.

    No! No! No! No! No!

While I generally love Jason Statham movies (the Transporter and Crank movies and, hell, even War), Richard Stark adaptations are NOT your typical Jason Statham movies! If anything, it should’ve been more like his Bank Job movie!

Dude, I can’t believe I’m actually saying that a Mel Gibson version of a movie (even a director’s cut version of a Mel Gibson movie) is better than ANYTHING!
