The good news: If you live in Canada, Justin McConnell’s end of the world thriller “The Collapsed” opens in theaters on May 27th, 2011. The bad news, of course, is that the rest of us are going to have to sit on our hands and wait for someone to distribute this eerie little thriller to the rest of the planet. In order to spread the good word about the flick, a new theatrical trailer is currently making the rounds on various genre sites. As usual, it has been carefully embedded below for your amusement.

Here’s what the picture is about:

In the wake of the end of the world, a family of four desperately tries to survive against insurmountable odds. Their goal: escaping the city and traveling to the rural community they once called home, Dover’s Bend.

The constant threat of a violent death forcing them to stay as far away from civilization as possible, they take to the forest, soon to discover the danger posed by other survivors may be the least of their worries.

Author: Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)
