Theo James, who can currently be seen playing copper on CBS’ “Golden Boy” (a pretty good show if you haven’t seen it, though I have a sneaking suspicion it might not last past its first season, but I would love to be proven wrong), has officially joined the cast of Summit Entertainment’s “Divergent”.
James will play a character name Four, a man with a mysterious past and Tris’s intense yet charismatic instructor and one of the leaders of the Dauntless faction.
Tris is being played by Shailene Woodley, who can also be seen in the upcoming “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”.
Based on the series of Young Adult books by Veronica Roth, “Divergent” is “a thrilling adventure set in a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities, Tris Prior (Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it’s too late.”
The cast also includes Kate Winslet, Maggie Q., Zoe Kravitz and Ansel Elgort.
“Divergent” will be directed by Neil Burger (“Limitless”), with shooting expected to commence this April in Chicago.
Opening next year March 21, 2014.
