Following up on the first images from the movie posted this morning, comes the first trailer for Will Smith and Margot Robbie’s “Focus.” The duo do the conman dance for directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, and looks, well, interesting. Not mind-blowing or anything, but it’s got Robbie acting sexy and Smith acting cool, so there’s that.
In the movie, Smith plays a veteran grifter who takes a young, attractive woman (Robbie) under his wing, but things get complicated when they become romantically involved. Then years later, they meet up again, and things get even more complicated.
What? You thought they weren’t going to hop into bed and get all romantic? Oh come. It’s almost as generic a plot as the hitman/assassin who has to do one last job before retirement. That “one last job” is also one of the main plot of “Focus” I think. Hey, why fix it if it ain’t broke, right?
Also starring Rodrigo Santoro, BD Wong, and Gerald McRaney.
