Thomas Jane Starts Shooting Dark Country

Written by Nix | November 14th, 2007 | 0 Comments |

Thomas Jane isn’t just an actor and comic book geek (he actually has his own comic book company!), but he’s also a director. Or at least, he will be once he finishes shooting his directorial debut, “Dark Country”, which is being described as a “noir thriller”, and follows a couple (played by Lauren German (”Hostel II”) and Ron Perlman (”Hellboy”)) on a honeymoon that turns out, well, not so good. Variety reports that the film is currently shooting in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from a script by Tab Murphy, and is being shot simultaneously in 3-D.

More:

The film is being produced by Hyde Park Entertainment and Stage 6 Films, the newly created production arm of Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group. Hyde Park’s Patrick Aiello and Ashok Amritraj are producing.

“The Dark Country” will be released by one of Sony’s theatrical labels, and it is one of the first films being shot simultaneously in 3-D to take advantage of the slowly swelling ranks of theaters that are being retrofitted for 3-D to accommodate films like the James Cameron-directed “Avatar,” but can play in 2-D theaters as well.
