Thomas Jane to Run for McTiernan

Run (2008) Movie — By Nix on February 11, 2008

The last time I heard about director John McTiernan, he was supposed to start a 4-month stint in federal prison starting in January. Either he’s escaped the jail time or he thinks he’ll be out in time to head down south to direct Thomas Jane in the action-thriller “Run”. Variety reports that Jane (”The Mist”) has signed up to headline the $35 million dollar flick, which will be set in Argentina.

More:

Written by Jonah Loop, the film is being produced by Michael Pierce and Mark Williams. Hamilton and Simon Fawcett of Aramid Capital will exec produce.

The wide spaces of Argentina are appropriate for “Run,” which has an American Interpol agent happening upon a conspiracy during a thrills-and-spills high-speed pursuit across the country.

The film’s big draw seems to be a series of thrilling car chases. Shooting starts April 14, 2008.
