Has it actually been two years since the first “Thor” movie proved that guys in funky armor and speaking in wacky tongue can actually work as a movie? Yup. Indeed it has, my friends, though we’ve already seen Thor one more time in “The Avengers”. (Thor’s evil brother Loki was there, too, the troublemaker.) The bros are once again reunited in Alan Taylor’s “Thor: The Dark World”, which takes the action back to Asgard. And hey, look, it’s everyone’s favorite spunky scientist Jane Foster along for the ride!
Check out your first look at the trailer for “Thor 2″. It’s actually kind of fun to see the rest of Asgard other than all those silvery and gold castles in the sky. I guess you could say Thor lives in Asgard’s version of Beverly Hills while everyone lives in South Central. Or something along those lines. (It sounded better in my head.)
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
“Thor: The Dark World” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo, and Anthony Hopkins.
Hammerin’ his point home this November 8, 2013.
