Thor Hammers Its Way Onto DVD and Blu-ray This September

If you missed Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor” when it barreled into North American theaters earlier this year, then you’re in luck. The film is currently scheduled to hit DVD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray 3D this September. The Ultimate Set including the film on Blu-ray in both 3D and 2D versions, as well as a standard definition version of the flick on DVD. There’s also a two-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack available for those of you who couldn’t care less about owning a three-dimensional version of the feature. That, of course, includes me. But I’m almost positive that you already know this.

Both sets will include 80 minutes of bonus features, including a look at the upcoming “Avengers” movie. That alone will probably seal the proverbial deal for most fans. “Thor” arrives on the retail scene on September 13th, 2011. Take a peek at the artwork below.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)

Can’t wait. Great movie but am I the only one who hates the blue banner at the top of the Blu-Ray. It is destracting from the cover art and really annoying to me. I’m new to Blu-Ray and it is a real pain in the @$$! Side by side the DVD looks much cleaner than the Blu-Ray in my opinion.
