Thor promises to save us all or die trying in a new extended TV spot for former “Game of Thrones” helmer Alan Taylor’s big-screen debut, Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World”. I guess if you gotta make the jump to big-time moviemaking, doing one where people speak funny and wear flowery capes and whatnot was a hell of a transition. Taylor-made, if you will. Ahem.
Check out the new extended TV spot, which clocks i just slightly over a minute long. Some new footage there, a lot of old footage, and I still don’t know who this “darkness” thing they’re fighting is. It’s not the rock guy, right? Cause he sorta got smashed up pretty good there at the end.
Thor battles to save all the Nine Realms from a mysterious enemy older than the universe itself. However, a shadowy race led by Malekith, who is out for revenge, intends to descend the universe into darkness. Confronted by an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot overcome, Thor must reunite with Jane Foster and set out on a dangerous journey that will force him to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins.
