Jaimie Alexander, who is so cool for school that she felt perfectly fine with having a gratuitous “i” in her first name, has joined the growing cast of South Korean director Kim Ji-Woon’s Hollywood debut, the modern Western “Last Stand”.
The plot has Schwarzenegger playing the experienced Sheriff of a small border Texas/Mexico town who must stop a drug cartel from escaping into Mexico with his department of inexperienced cops. The former “Thor” star will play a character named Sarah Torrance, one of those inexperienced cops under Arnold Schwarzenegger’s command “who enjoys a playful romance with fellow officer Frank Martinez, who will be played by “300” star Rodrigo Santoro.”
Peter Stormare and Zach Gilford were also recently added to the cast. Stormare, of course, as one of the (sure to be twitchy) bad guys.
Alexander is also expected back for the “Thor” sequel, which isn’t likely to be underway for a while, since star Chris Hemsworth is busy with “The Avengers” and as far as I know, a director for “Thor 2” hasn’t been officially announced yet.
