Via Twitchfilm, Chinese site Sina has got some promotional stills and another poster for the upcoming Andy Lau/Maggie Q. epic actioner “Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon”. There might be more than just the images I have below, but since the entire site is in Chinese, and Chinese font looks like asterisk on my computer — well, you know, I give up easily. Previous behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of the movie can be found here and here.
As the title indicates, the film is set in the Three Kingdoms period, immortalized in a classic work of historical fiction. The young Zhao Ziling (Andy Lau) goes to war against Cao Cao, a cunning politician and military strategist. Finally, Cao Cao’s forces are sent into retreat, but the battles between feuding warlords continue for sixty years. Zhao Ziling, now an old man, must finally take to the field against Cao’s warrior grand-daughter, Cao Ying (Maggie Q.).

Hmm, the costume design is interesting. Andy Lau’s role (should be spelled Zhao Zilong I think) is most commonly portrayed as always dressed in all white/silver armor. The thing he wear in the poster is almost Japanese samurai looking, minus the helmet. Then again I guess no one really know how the amors looks like 2000 years ago.
isnt zhao zilong or ziling zhao yun???
It should be Zhuge Liang me thinking, he was the Shu strategist. Liu Bei was the leader. Zhao Yun didn’t really do much except rescue Liu Bei’s kid. Anyway, film, I don’t care as long as its got Lu Bu somewhere.
not so they know
Lu Bu will probably not be in this film, considering its somethin about Zhao Yun’s last stance against the Wei army….Lu Bu was longgg dead at this time; and its concentrated on the battles between shu and wei. as for the armor of choice, i personally think they couldve done better…in all chinese historical films, zhao yuns armor was portrayed..well..more chinese. but, it’s probably just the helmet that turned people down tho. overall, i think it’ll be a pretty good film.
Its a battle between shu and wu…so obviously other characters wont b in it.. unless like in the empire game they ruled ova wei or sumwea and captured a prisoner and made them another general half way thru the movie..lol..na too much. yea zhao yun’s costume luks soo japanese. evrythin does lol…
hmm i’l stil go watch it tho..huge fan of koei and dynasty warriors.. gettin my hands on dw 6 soon
…
Its between Wei and Shu my son.
sad but brave
