New Official Images From The Avengers – UPDATED

The Avengers (2012) Movie EW CoverFollowing up on that badly photoshopped EW cover featuring the “Avengers” superhero team all assembled and looking strange, comes three new images from the set of Joss Whedon’s superhero team-up. Obviously these aren’t complete shots, since, well, you can see the green screen in the background after all. I’m pretty sure that won’t be in the completed film. Update: EW has added the individual headshots of the Avengers from that EW cover. Update #2: Added additional images from the magazine itself.

In the film, Earth’s mightiest superheroes team up when a new, dangerous enemy threatens the entire world. That rascal Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is behind it all, I tell ya.

“The Avengers” stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as The Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as SHIELD agent Maria Hill round out the cast.

The Joss Whedon-directed film is due out in 2012.

    The Captain’s suit looks right to me. It makes sense. The old costume looked so heavy. Is only logical to assume Nick Fury made S.H.I.E.L.D. design a new lighter suit with more protection.

    i don’t know. for me this suit looks a little funny,like man ballerina or something,old suite was cooler only the helmet wasn’t that good

    I still can’t get over johnny storm as captain america lol. and he just doesn’t even look like steve rogers…. personally, robert downey is pretty good as iron man, and thor is pretty spot on, but other than that..ehhhhh

      I know right Chris Evans is a rely good actor as captain America though and Robert Downey Jr is too as Tony / Iron Man I just hope they get some good coustumes

    The old suit was believable. I liked it, looked cool!

    I would also want for the Cap to use the old suit but I guess I was expecting something like that. It looks a bit more futuristic. Not against it really.

    re: the Black Widow and Hawkeye photo–I want that movie, with just those two, next. Leave behind the superscience and magic-as-science at the Avengers mansion and let’s have some dirt-under-the-fingernails old-fashioned action

    Interesting that they’re going with Mark Ruffalo instead of Hulk…either they haven’t finished his design yet, or they’re simply holding on to the one last surprise they have left (aside from the full plot, of course).

      His whole look is off. They seem to have completely ignored what was done in the Norton film. His hair is different. His clothes are way different styles than Banner wore in TIH. Just doesn’t seem to feel right.

        Ruffalo’s pucker is hilarious. He had to some how make Bruce Banner look super-hero-ish, so before they started snapping the pics, he bit into a lemon.

          LOL! He has always had a wierd mouth. I would have thought they would try to distract the audience from that not play it up. Hahahaha!
          I really hope that they show how Banner/Hulk was captured. The scenario should be something along the lines of SHIELD finding Banner in the Antarctic. They offer him a deal. He can stop running if he becomes member of the “super secret boyband”. Once they get him aboard the hellcarrier they have a photo shoot and put Banner in a really stylish Ralph Lauren suit and polo and have him do “tiger face “lemon face” like in Jay & Silent Bob which leads into a “clothes off pose off” with Maria Hill officiating!

    I love that there making the avengers movie Nd I understand that the director couldn’t have pulled it all together since the outfits seem off but hawkeye and Tonys seem legit and all I just hope the use the triangle suit for Tonys iron man outfit since in the second film it was more powerful :) all the other outfits could use just. A little improve ment I think but it’s gonna be a good movie anyway =D
