Guess what? Director Ti West has a brand new movie looming on the horizon. Following the release of the first trailer for “The Sacrament,” the promotional team behind the filmmaker’s latest endeavor has unveiled a new motion poster. Because you ain’t nobody in the world of internet horror if you ain’t got no motion poster.
As far as motion posters go, this one is merely okay. At least it doesn’t have a ridiculously obnoxious soundtrack that autoplays when you loaded this article. Because those things are seriously out of control. Why you’d want to assault prospective moviegoers with something annoying is beyond my realm of comprehension. Then again, I guess it’s our fault for writing about them. Heh.
Anyway, here’s the synopsis for “Sacrament.” It’s pretty quiet, too.
“The Sacrament” stars AJ Bowen and Joe Swanberg as reporters for VICE Media who journey to a remote Central American compound along with a photographer hoping to reunite with his sister, who has dropped off the map after struggling with drug addiction. They find an isolated community of true believers devoted to a shadowy but charismatic figure called “Father.” Skeptical at first, the journalists begin to come around to the group’s utopian claims, until things rapidly take a very dark turn.
In addition to Bowen and Swanberg, “The Sacrament” stars Amy Seimetz, Gene Jones, and Kentucker Audley. The flick hits VOD on May 1, 2014 while the theatrical release is scheduled for June 6, 2014. Check out the motion poster and the latest red band trailer below. And don’t roll your eyes just because it’s from Ti West.
