Tim McGraw Trades in Hat for CIA Shades in Universal’s Safe House

The Indian outlaw himself, Tim McGraw, has signed up to play Ryan Reynolds’ CIA mentor who “may not be all he appears to be” in Universal’s spy thriller “Safe House”, reports THR. “Safe House”, from hot screenwriter David Guggenheim, will be directed by Daniel Espinosa and will star Reynolds as a young CIA agent who must go on the run with a dangerous criminal played by Denzel Washington after the safehouse where Washington is being kept is attacked by even more dangerous bad guys.

Not a bad premise for an action movie, albeit nothing overly original. Sounds like another rehash of “Assault on Precinct 13″ and its ilk. As a fanboy, I would have prefer Reynolds leaving this to someone else and go do “Deadpool” already.
