Previously attached to direct Ryan Reynolds in what would have been a rollicking good time in “Deadpool”, VFX man Tim Miller (he’s worked on both of Bryan Singer’s “X-Men” movies) has now found himself taking over another comic book movie called “Gravel”, this one based on the Warren Ellis comic book of the same name.
“Gravel” will follow a man name William Gravel, a soldier in the British S.A.S. who uses his skills in dark magic to moonlight and battle supernatural beings for clients in order to make some extra cash. Hey, guy’s gotta pay the mortgage, you know.
No word on what this means for “Deadpool”, if anything. But like most guys who pop up in Hollywood and is suddenly hot stuff overnight without ever actually having done anything to prove they’re deserving of the “hot stuff overnight” label, Miller is grabbing what he can, while he can. I just hope this doesn’t spell doom for “Deadpool”. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, here’s something Miller has done (besides game cinematic cut scenes) that has gotten him noticed: the opening sequence for David Fincher’s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”.
