Tintin and his Adventurous Dog Get Two Teaser Trailers

Take a look the first teaser trailers (including a UK version) for Steven Spielberg’s “The Adventures of Tintin” (it looks like they’re definitely ditching the “Secret of the Unicorn” from the title). I have absolutely no idea how close this is to the actual comic strip from which the movie is based on, but it certainly looks like something the kids will like, though adults not familiar with the characters will probably not be all that intrigued by this teaser. It looks okay, but there’s nothing really outstanding about it. Plus, motion capture, with its halfway point between lifelike and creepy artificial fakeness, has always given me the creeps, so there’s that.

Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures Present a 3D Motion Capture Film “The Adventures of Tintin” directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Steven Moffat and Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish. Starring Jamie Bell (“Billy Elliot,” “Defiance”) as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig (“Quantum of Solace,” “Defiance”) as the nefarious Red Rackham.

Starring the motions and voices of Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones, and Mackenzie Crook.

Adventurin’ December 23rd, 2011.

Cool Stories From Zergnet

It’s an origin story of sorts with Tin Tin meeting well known characters for the first time, like the good Captain Haddock. Other than making the characters look realistic it looks very close to the comics. However I wass hoping for a bit more, maybe the full trailer wont disappoint.

Yeah, I’m surprised Spielberg didn’t go all squeamish about kids and guns.

I want to see how the characters act while just having conversations. That’s always when the dead-eyed mannequin effect rears its ugly head
