Together At Last: Tony Jaa And Dolph Lundgren On The Set Of A Man Will Rise

How’s this for the best news you’re going to hear all week: martial arts superstar Tony Jaa (“Ong Bak”) is teaming up with legendary action icon, and chemical engineer, Dolph Lundgren (“Rocky IV”). The two will co-star in the international action flick “A Man Will Rise.”

Formerly titled “Local Hero,” with Jean-Claude Van Damme slated to appear opposite Jaa, a few photos from the set of “A Man Will Rise” have found their way into our eager little hands. There isn’t much known about the story thus far, but if these pictures are any indication, there’s a western theme, with Lundgren in a cowboy hat, and a some sweet facial hair stylings.

If nothing else, it’s nice to see Jaa actually working on set again. Hopefully now that he has wriggled out of his exclusive contract with Sahamongkol, he’ll be able to take on more and more movies. The more Jaa, the better. In theory, the long-awaited “Tom Yum Goong 2” should also drop later this year.

Conan Stevens (“The Hobbit,” “Game of Thrones,” “Spartacus”) and Patrick Kazu Tang (“Chinese Zodiac,” “Bangkok Knockout”) will also appear in “A Man Will Rise.” Reports also have Tang taking on some of the fight choreography duties. Never a bad thing.
