Tom Cruise in New Mission Impossible Pic Looking All Ghost Protocol-y

The studio has released a new pic of star Tom Cruise in his “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” get-up, looking all moody and ready for action. The film, starring Cruise, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner, Tom Wilkinson, Paula Patton, Josh Holloway, Lea Seydoux, Michael Nyqvist, Anil Kapoor, Darren Shahlavi, and explodes onscreen December 21, 2011.

The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization’s name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this.

Former Pixar guy Brad Bird makes his live-action feature film debut on the film.

I sure hope Brad Bird can do something with this franchise. Although I’m not a big fan of Cruise-man, I wish the director all the luck in the world. I think he’s one of those directors that contributes positively to the medium. Let’s hope his first live action film goes well. Looking forward to this one – on blu-ray.

He’s in the cast but not any of the trailers. Possibly on the way out?
