Tom Cruise gets his own character poster in Doug Liman’s sci-fi actioner “Edge of Tomorrow”. I guess that originally released poster wasn’t Cruise after all. Or maybe it was Cruise, but it’s a little hard to tell with the helmet on and such. When you have a recognizable face like Cruise in your movie, it’s probably not a good idea to cover him up like that. This latest poster for the movie doesn’t make that mistake, as you can see for yourself above.
In a near future an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Lt. Col. Bill Cage is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, he becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski.
The film also stars Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Kick Gurry, Dragomir Mrsic, Charlotte Riley and Jonas Armstrong. It’s due to save the world June 6, 2014.
