Tom Cruise vs. Denzel Washington in 28th Amendment
28th Amendment Movie — By Nix on May 15, 2008
Tom Cruise as the President of the United States of America? Um, kind of hard to believe there, chief. Now if you were to tell me that Tom Cruise is the President of, say, Scientologyville, I might be more inclined to believe you. Then again, we’re talking about a movie here. It’ll be called “28th Amendment”, and in the film, Cruise will play POTUS, who discovers that the Government is actually run by a super duper secret organization controlled by … Denzel Washington???
That’s what Moviehole says:
Cruise would play President Ben Cahill in Warners action thriller, which follows the adventures of an American President (Cruise) that discovers the United States is actually being controlled by a super secret organization (run by Denzel Washington) that terminates those that get in its way.
So I guess that makes Washington the film’s villain? Interesting casting.
It could be really good, too. Cruise is always very effective in these “everyday guy discovers something bad, has to stop it against large odds” kind of role. But isn’t he kind of young to be playing POTUS? I mean, look at his picture below from “Lions for Lambs”.
In any case, Phillip Noyce (”Patriot Games”) is set to direct.
