Tom Cruise Working on Mission Impossible 4?

Okay, here’s the deal with these “I saw this [actor/director/random guy] on this foreign TV show [that you've probably never heard of, or maybe doesn't even exist except in my mind], and he said this really cool thing [that I probably just made up]” stories: most of the time they turn out to be wrong. But hey, better safe than sorry, right?

The latest “it’s probably full of hot air, but since we’d rather not get caught with our pants down by not reporting it, here it is with full caveat in place” rumor has Tom Cruise showing up at a Japanese talk show and telling them that he’s already working on a “Mission Impossible 4″. Or so says some guy with some made-up name who wrote in to AICN.

Cruise is big in Japan, I hear, where they haven’t realized he’s a total freak just yet. In Japanese, Scientology probably means “feel good massage” or something. I could be wrong, of course.

In any case, take this for what you will.
