Tom Hardy is one busy fella, which is good for him, because with George Miller’s “Fury Road” having been delayed for as long as a full year, the actor now has a host of projects to choose from. Besides a starring role in Christopher Nolan’s “Batman 3” (probably as the lead villain), and the action-comedy “This Means War” with Chris Pine, Hardy is now said to be “circling” the lead in “Snow White and the Huntsman”, Universal’s revisionist take on the familiar Disney tale.
Based on a script by Evan Daugherty, with Rupert Sanders set to make his feature directorial debut on the movie, “Huntsman” would find Hardy, as the Huntsman, going on the run with Snow White after he’s assigned to whack her by her evil step-mother, Ravenna the Queen. The studio is eyeing Angelina Jolie for the part. Then again, who isn’t eyeing Angelina Jolie for every part nowadays? Just as Alfonso Cuaron.
Apparently Daugherty’s script is hot stuff, with Universal reportedly paying $1.5 million against $3 million for it. Shooting will either commence early next year, or late next year, but probably sometime in 2011.
