Tom Six Responds to the BBFC’s Banning of Human Centipede II

Tom SixAs Todd has reported here, the BBFC (aka the British Board of Film Classification, essentially the UK’s version of the States’ MPAA, though the MPAA is more of a “guide” that you can choose to ignore, while the BBFC can actually make it illegal) has banned Tom Six’s “Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence” from ever seeing the light of day on UK shores. This means not only no theatrical release, but also no DVD release, or broadcast of any kind within the UK’s borders.

Reached for comment by Empire, the inimitable Mr. Six has now responded to the banning:

Thank you BBFC for putting spoilers of my movie on your website and thank you for banning my film in this exceptional way. Apparently I made an horrific horror-film, but shouldn’t a good horror film be horrific? My dear people it is a f****cking MOVIE. It is all fictional. Not real. It is all make-belief. It is art. Give people their own choice to watch it or not. If people can’t handle or like my movies they just don’t watch them. If people like my movies they have to be able to see it any time, anywhere also in the UK.

And so, the worm turns. Or, er, human centipede…

So what’s all the fuss about? Here’s the teaser trailer for “The Human Centipede II: Full Sequence” … which doesn’t tell you anything about the sequel because it’s just Six walking around in an underground garage commiserating with himself by way of voiceover. Hell, I don’t even know if that’s his actual voice, since I’ve never heard him actually speak:

Oh please, no, not that “it´s art”-argument. So everyone who can afford a camera and brings his violent, demented bedtime-fantasies to life, is an artist?

  • Dabbld

You don’t have to like it. But you definitely should NOT ban it.

  • Shazam!

To his argument about spoilers being put out by his sensors I simply refer to his own argument – people are free to choose whether or not to read those statements – or, is he saying that sometimes things should be sensored?

If you must know, it’s Adam Sandler underneath that box and I can tell this is going to be my feel good movie of the year. My in-laws are getting some lovely surprises in their Christmas stocking this year. “Before or after the Queen’s speech dear?”
