Eighties Goodness

If you grew up watching cartoons during the eighties then you’ve no doubt noticed how some of that period’s most beloved shows are now being turned into Hollywood blockbusters. What with the sequel to the Transformers movie and GI Joe coming to theaters soon, and Thundercats and Voltron just looming over the horizon, those of us who’re wetting our pants in anticipation will have more than enough to aid in our reversion to childhood. So then how about those other shows that were on during that same timeframe? You know, all the derivative copycat cartoons that jumped on the bandwagon of existing for the sole purpose of selling toys?

    You its kinda funny that when I saw those titles I said to myself “how on earth i missed those cartoons when I was young” and then I saw the trailers and BOOM I remembered all of them !!! WOW what an amazing luck to have been raised with those cartoons.

    But yeah my vote will have to go to Thurndercats and SilverHawks. I am a huge fan of those two.

    I’m sure it has been said, but Gobots was made into a movie. One of my earliest memories of going to the cinema, is being brought to see it by my sister. It wasn’t Transformers but I wasn’t too disappointed.

    Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light
    I remember their awesome figures and shields with 80’s holographic decals. These totally made me feel like a 5 year old again. Had a joygasm.
