Toretto and O’Conner’s Cars in The Fast and the Furious 4
By Nix | February 11, 2008 (11:30 am) | More: The Fast and the Furious 4 (2009) Movie
So what will Brian O’Conner and Dominic Toretto (aka Paul Walker and Vin Diesel) be tooling around in in the upcoming “The Fast and the Furious 4″ movie? To be honest with you, my full knowledge of cars begins and ends with, “Step on that thing, the car goes; step on the other thing, the car stops”. But luckily, the guys over at vindieselgallery.net knows more than I do. Check out what they’re saying will be the ride of choice for our two heroes below.
Dominic Toretto’s ride:

Hondakid on 11 February 2008:
How do you get an 08 wrx sti into a so called prequel to tokyo drift *confused*
Iain on 13 February 2008:
I see Brians character has downgraded from a Evo to a Scooby! Hope you realise the Scooby got really bad reviews in Britian!
David on 13 February 2008:
I have watched every fast and the furious movie there is, even the prequel of what happens after 1 and before 2 and i have to say i am dissappointed that Brian is going to be rolling around in a scooby! not good.
chad on 14 February 2008:
i think he sould be in the new honda civic si type r are a rsx
cyboe226 on 14 February 2008:
And now they are going to ad a mustang knowing that one got smoked on the ff2 and a soccer mom scooby, whats next an aerostar. These producers gotta get out and watch the real racing scene instaed of dumping cash into a trendy movie…Hondas Rule enuff said..
stuart on 14 February 2008:
hondas rule…:( I hear this all the time but honestly in my opinion its the begining of a tuner. I have worked on everything from stock DX’s to integra jdm type r’s and as cheap and simple as they are you can only do so much and its done by so many people so often that it gets a bit dull. As for the not being part of the scene mustangs are. Take your own advice and go to the drags 80% of the cars are American muscle. And those big monsterous v8’s c
the NHRA at 7000hp… Hemi motors are notorious for their hp/tq capabilities. And companies like JEGS make parts easier to get ahold of. On the drift scene you see a lot of 350z’s and 240’s and silvia’s but now your starting to see American muscle like ford mustangs and correct me if I’m wrong but a 800hp dodge viper held the crown at almost every event it was in. And now the same driver is punishing opponents in a Pontiac solstice. Go to the twisty tracks of the world and you see german cars in a league of there own. They outhandle everything big thanks to nurburgring. Skylines and the new GTR got this benifit also. Top speed hands down goes to Germans and exotics. No American or jap cars have long enough final drive ratios. Except theoccasional viper and vettes and the gtr. Then off the tracks you get the audiophiles and tuners that go for looks sacraficing weight and usually increasing luxury. Which brings me to my next point about hondas. Cloth seats and plastic everything is not attractive to the body. American and Asian cars are a class above with leather and plastic and the german and exotics are gorgeous leather and unlimited features. But at a heavy cost. Which is partially due to expensive labor costs not cause the maker is trying to rip you off. G35,37 and Z’s have decent interiors and are getting better. Lexus make very comfortable interiors that can make some cars three times its cost look bad. Hondas are the cheap but effective starter car when you only have 20k to get a car and upgrade it hondas will be the best choice but with more money to spend comes more options and when people get older the luxury appeals more. For example would you take a stock civic si over a stock m3? Probably not but like I said it comes at an easy 30k difference in price . And at the end of the day that I so great street racing Honda is still a Honda and the guy in the m3 is still in a bmw which I assure you is a much nicer car in all aspects other than affordability. Ok enough of my novel. If you are so egar to back up hondas…. Which I have not actually dissed then email me at stumac@sbcglobal.net and we can talk more. Btw I drive and own an 02 325i,an 08 335i, an sl550, a 99 ford ranger and a yukon denali :)… Now if you read all this thanks and I hope you enjoy your day
Matt on 14 February 2008:
truly not approve of the car types in this movie, mostly the 08 subie. its better than a fwd 1.8 honda. i’m a big sti fan but why the 08 why not the world class 06, add alittle beef to the movie, but street cerdit to the subaru cause the got the nice sounding engine(boxer) but a big negative on the style
lee duke on 15 February 2008:
hey uh yah, they should of used something like the new mitzu evo or a new challenger for dom. and ive owned a 93 civic, yah it was a awesome bang fo the buck but their are helluva lot better cars.
the new wrx looks stupid im sure its a great car but it looks like a station wagon almost, and the mustang has been out for awhile they need to have brand new cars in it.
Racer X on 16 February 2008:
In case you guys forgot, movies like F&F2 and 3 are marketing platforms. Sure they right a script and make a plot but where do you think most of the money comes from? The studio funds movies like this by corporations that see a marketing spot that will generate money. Ford apparently jumped on this and that’s why the Mustang will be one of the key cars. Subaru knows that the bad press of the new WRX is hurting sales so what better way to correct that issue then a hit franchise based on the Import performance scene. I agree that Dodge should have jumped on this and stuck a new Challanger in there or even Nissan with there first time debut of the GTR on U.S shores. Regardless, I think that the return of Torreto is a good way of rejuvenating this franchise and I honestly liked the 3rd movie to so hopefully they stay on the right track. Lets justt hope there are no cheesy rappers in this one.
evofan08 on 16 February 2008:
they need the new skyline and camaro in this!
that would be bad a!
Hondakid on 16 February 2008:
How do yall know that the nissan and dodge challenger and chevy camaro are not in this one. They jus told what cars dominic and brian will be driving
j-man on 16 February 2008:
Brian O’Conner’s ride should be not a hump bak but somthing like a skyline(2004) or 350z nismo but i like the dom ride
if any one wants to contect me my e mail is bedarkhawaja@hotmail.com
daryov on 16 February 2008:
mitshubishi evo 10 will be paul walkers then for vin sould have the subaru sti, that will awsome for the movie and add the gt-r or the nissan 350z or the dodge viper for sean.
nehemiah on 16 February 2008:
um… the producer needs to go to a real street race. they last 3 movies were not realistic. no body goes to a street race with flames and stars on there car. the producer should give brian a allmotor nsx or twin turbo nsx. And for dominic he should get the new cobras but enough with all these dumb graphics, be serious and go tho a real street race and see for yourselves.
bc on 16 February 2008:
are you all stupid walker should be driving the best car of all time 93-96…………. toyota supra 2jz no s#@t car even though it was in the first it would be awesome and make sence for him to drive it again
03maxonbagz on 17 February 2008:
Nehemiah….
What is a real race scene? Just because you think jdm ftw most people think graphics and ricey type ish ftw..have you ever seen of been in the real jdm in japan racing scene they got honda oddyses on bags sittin on 20’s with a wide body kit n graphix all over the place…needless to say I’m glad vinny n paul are back I’m sure they will make the subie look fresh. If not oh well fnf4 is back! Lets all enjoy it for what it is. You can’t please everyone
Wisdom from Hindsight on 17 February 2008:
I hope Dom does not drive that Mustang. That thing looks so cheesy!
With flames and… a chain?! WTF is that!
I don’t like the new subie, it looks funky, and I don’t gennerally like HOT HATCHES!!, but the subie is alright, it just loks weird.
Dom should drive a 1970 Dodge Challeneger with a 440 six pack or 426 HEMI. (Just a thought, but maybe they’d reck it somehow, and get a new 08 challenger with the 7.0 liter 426 cubic inch V8) I think that’d be pretty neat.
Brian should drive his Nissan R34 or possibly the new EVO even though I don’t really like it. But rather something fresh and new then drive an EVO 9. I love the EVO 9, but I doubt they’d let them use it twice in a row rom Tokyo Drift.
Hondakid on 17 February 2008:
The cars have to be custom. PERIOD. The color choses for the cars should be candy paint. I want to see some bentleysor 300c on dubs for the drug dealers. Its all about realism. I want to see private jets, mansions, ferraris, police chases with choppers, safe houses in middle of the deserts, technology including laptops, spy cams, I want the cars to be like the Transporter.
j-man on 17 February 2008:
all u wrong the story is to have the 3000gtfor brine and dom should have tha supra from tha first movie and das how it should go contect me at bedarkhawaja@hotmail.com
Stevo on 17 February 2008:
o dear god please not the new subaru. Not only that but a mustang. Ok i does look pretty but seriously how more generic can you get? Please sombody fire whoever decided on the cars for the next movie. All in all i will see the next FAF and love it regardless but for the love of god create somthing unique and don’t ruin the fresh blood injected by tokyo drift please for my sake.
Stuart on 18 February 2008:
so everyone needs to stop botching about what cars should be driven and why these two shouldn’t. I’m sure they will play into script very well. For those of you wondering why they pick all these stupid cars with graphics cause no one has graphics on their cars then do realize the cars are not just movie cars but actual cars that people own. You think your car is so much better then you should have done what those people do and go to the recruiting meetings. The one for los angeles was last month. Also stop b”tching about what muscle cars should be in it. Do remember vin desiels comment at the end of Tokyo drift as he is at the drift line in a dubbed charger! He mentioned winning it from his friend Han back when Han used to roll in his crew. So you will get to see plenty variety of makes and models driving different styles. The movie won’t disappoint they just keep getting better. You wanna see real drifting then buy the option DVD’s or the d1 stuff. The real legite illegal racing scene is to boring for movie production so they spice it up to hell of course its not how it works but if it did it would be pretty wicked and not so boring. So stop being hipacrits and let the movie unfold. You don’t know how long they will have the cars for or what they will do with them. You want million dollars cars racing with cadgets money and mansions watch the movie redline. The gorgeous girls are about the only good part the rest is way over the top. You like the ass kicking of transporter then watch the tranporter don’t wish fast and the furious the same ideas cause them being different makes then that great. Same with bond movies.
Wullie on 18 February 2008:
I don’t think the mustang was the beast choice because they just used it for the Knight Rider movie, The Fast And The Furious has always been about the originality, for example the Mitsi Eclipse, how many films did you ever see that in before ? along with all the car graphics, neons etc. I don’t think the new Subaru is a wise choice tho, its not got hard enough looks thats in keeping with all the cars before, like the skylines, supras, maximas and even the S2000 in F&F2 looked good and that was pink. No doubt the new subaru is a nice car to drive, but its a hatchback and looks nowhere near as aggressive as it should to keep it in line with the other films. In my opinion they should give him back the orange supra from the first movie, it may be old but there is no denying that it is and will be one very cool and quick car for a long time to come. I also agree that there should be a variety of cars old and new because at the end of the day thats what we’re all paying money to see !, hopefully tho, it will be the best yet.
Aaron on 18 February 2008:
So many better and more RELEVENT cars that MUST BE in this Movie…
To be good, this film has to follow to First Movie and CAN NOT follow the trend of the last two. This movie has to have cars that fit the characters and have the cars be REAL CARS. NOBODY gets those crazy graphics on a real street racer car. YOU BLEND IN. If Dom is on the Run he needs a car Like a black 87′ GNX with T-tops. THAT IS A COOL CAR. I call BS on these cars being in the movie. They need to blow up a few cars like they dide with the Eclipse in #1 also. Somebody has got to loose something important like that…
This script better get it right and make the real performance guys happy. The producers should not cave to money and marketing- they NEED REAL CARS THAT ARE NOT OVERDONE OR PLAYED OUT. I want my belief suspened when I go to this movie. I want to see stuff happen that is real stuff, stuff that could actaully go down, not some no-name people jumping over a bridge to win a race… no going to happen.
street on 18 February 2008:
brian should have an 86 corolla or something thats older then 2001 becuase the first movie came out in 97 or sumthing cmon commen sense
dom shuld get an 73 camaro or 71 charger not an 07 mustang
cmonnnnn OLD MUSCLE CARS dom said in tokyo drift the han was into american muscle hense he won it from him duhh
use an older 7muscle car MAKE SURE U GUYS MAKE A GOOD MOVIE
cant have a f&f dud for a movie they were all GREAT so dont mess up the last one !!!!
renegade on 19 February 2008:
did anybody else bother watching the clip after the credits of the first movie?? it shows vin driving a red chevelle ss. that is the car he shouls be driving for this movie, not some over the top mustang.
also, the new WRX is all wrong for brian, he shouldn’t drive a hatch it just doesnt look tough enough, he should drive the new evo, the new gtr or get anouther r34 gtr.
kenny on 19 February 2008:
he should go for his old eclipse from the 1st one
Hondakid on 19 February 2008:
This movie needs technology. In f&f1 you had video games in cars, etc. I want to see some kind of spy equipment. How come Bradga never get caught bc he has spies, video enhancer, I want this movie to reflect the FUTURE. Tuner Scene evolved. It has to be different than the rest but better than the 1st
Devon on 19 February 2008:
Are you serious??? the paint job on the mustang is too funny, and i cant see paul walker in a station wagon…i highly doubt these are the cars that will be used.
jserrano on 19 February 2008:
plain and simple gay???? cars look like crap
Hollywood-831 on 19 February 2008:
ok so if thease are the cars that are used, hell yea on the Mustang, its about frigin time!!! i praise this decsion, i cant wait. but whats wit the scooby, i mean come on after cars like EVO and a GTR how do you decide to use a subaru WRX for Brians car??? im dispointed on this decision, there many cars that would be better. but lets stay on the positive side theres a Mustang in FAF!!! HELL YEA!!!!!
AltimaSER on 20 February 2008:
yeah hollywood as if there arent enough mustangs hmm EVERYHWHERE?
Racinfiend003 on 21 February 2008:
First of all DOM TORETTO WAS NOT DRIVING A DODGE CHARGER AT THE END OF TOKYO DRIFT FOR GOD SAKES PEOPLE LEARN YOUR CARS ITS A 1970 PLYMOUTH ROADRUNNER GTX…anyways We should see in this next installment the use of his Black Charger from the original movie before it was wrecked (truly a sad scene) butn if u have noticed in both movies that Vin Diesel was in all of his muscle cars were from 1970 between his Charger, Roadrunner GTX, and Chevelle SS…im tired of the cheap underpowered mustangs in these movies (such as knight rider) the Subaru is also a waste in the style of street races in these movies…I think the producers should keep things simple…bring back the Skylines, camaros, eclipses, trans ams, etc…bring back some flavor hell i think they should even use a nicely tricked out El Camino thats def. original
Kryptic on 21 February 2008:
OMG..What have you done with Brians character??..He doesn’t drive with a car what has maximum 10Hp..Let Dominic have his muscle cars but Brian must have a Skyline or a Supra or someting like that, but not that car!!
Cgangsta on 21 February 2008:
straight Up.. Dom should Have A 98-02 ss Or A z28 408ci stroker With Twin T-76’s and a 150 shot just for the mustang’s, then brian could drive like a 98 supra or a 99 3kgtvr4 my homie has a silver 94 tt supra and its only a bpu car but that this is Nasty Mean.
sento7 on 21 February 2008:
As someone said earlier.. movie making is a business.. The companies that offer the most cash/concessions for product placement get the cherry, plain and simple. Nothing at all to do with what is current in ‘the scene’ ( whatever that is).
And the civic? common, not even the Japanese like the car for more then one type or one class racing. You want to go hardcore, throw Torreto into an AMX and Brian into a EVO5, they destroy those cars, dom gets a GNX and brian hops into a Cossie Escort ( in keeping witht he muscle car/awd theme)..
cristian on 21 February 2008:
very boring!Brian car 0-100km/h is maybe 10 minutes
sento7 on 21 February 2008:
.. allot of ignorance of actual numbers here.. before you comment on a cars performance figures at least do a 1 min google search for actual results.. 0-60mph ~4.6sec. for the STi, ~5.7sec WRX.. It may be fugly as hell but that does not mean it’s slow..
Hondakid on 22 February 2008:
I perfer honda civics the most bc they are daily drivers, good on gas, fun to drive, the most aftermarket support, skid pad numbers better than Integra Type r after coilovers, cheap bodykits. These cars are good for anyone who want a fast car with little dough.
Stealthy Scooby on 22 February 2008:
Shhhhhh…. Don’t tell them that the new 08 WRX STi hatch is actually fast… I’d like to continue schooling ricers who think they’re slow.
Guys. The new WRX STi hatchback is SLOW!!!! You should bet $1000 + that your Civic Si will beat it! Trust me! You’ll be rich!
Hondakid on 22 February 2008:
A turbo civic will beat a wrx, just not off the line, first 2 seconds the civic will follow, then after the civic is coming in FAST!!! Fwd usually has a best zero to sixty in 4.4 seconds. Thats some exotic speeds, good enouh for street use
Stealthy Scooby on 22 February 2008:
Watch out for that torque steer… and OH that hairpin turn!!! I hope you keep your turbo civic below 200lb ft of torque, or you’ll lose that lovely FF drivability and nimbleness…. Also make sure to tell them WRX guys to keep their car stock, that way your turbo civic can win every time ^.^
sento7 on 22 February 2008:
LOL hoo boy.. Hondakid.. your hilarious. Please continue thou, your making my day.
renegade on 22 February 2008:
Hondakid should learn about what he’s saying before he says it. i drive a civic and although it’s quick its got nothing on an STI
Stealthy Scooby on 23 February 2008:
FF cars can be mighty quick, but they need to be set up correctly… An ideal power figure for an FF IMO would be about 230hp and 190lb ft of torque… With the correct cornering technique, this set up would be really fun…. Anything more than this is kinda pushing it and will (generally) hamper its handling/drivability, forcing the FF into a one trick “from a roll” drag racer… Case in point: Dodge SRT-4 & Mazdaspeed 3…. You’d be better off with a different drive train platform (AWD/RWD) if you aim for more power/torque than above while keeping the FF car’s handling manageable… Better yet, just ignore what I said and make that Dyno queen FF monster! I’ve always wanted to see how good/bad it would do on a circuit ^.^ Cheers!
ZoSo on 23 February 2008:
Some of you are looking too much into details like car make/model being in a prequel to FATF3. Easy explanation, its a fictional movie that you 1, suspend belief and 2, nowhere in the FATF series do they say what the years are. They don’t say its happening in present time, they don’t say its happening in the future or the past. They don’t use date specifics like what year the movie is taking place in.
The only people that are making that assumption are the viewers because they are judging by car makes and models which shouldn’t really matter in a fictional story.
Hondakid on 23 February 2008:
None of yall seen to know what a boost controller is. If i want a little horsepower or alot of horsepower, i just dial it in. And that about torque steer, just dont floor it (RWD) and hopes you can control all that torque and nose going flying in the air, probably do a backwards flip. AWD is nice off the line, but what about the Finish line. My thing to do is cruise at 20 mph and then take off. The speed is ridicoulse. There is a reason there is an allegiance to Hondas. Fwd, has to be light as possible to compete. Carbon fiber everything. Dont get me started on gas mileage. I can cruise twice as long as yall, use the extra cash to clean me up and impress the ladies
Stealthy Scooby on 23 February 2008:
Take off where? In a straight line? To the left while trying to keep the car straight? What’s this finish line you’re talking about? The end of a 1/4 mile? The end of Tsukuba circuit? A built B series or K series motor will NOT get good gas mileage. I guess if all you want to do is cruise and do “from a roll” drag races, high hp/high torque FWD is ok…. But you’ll be missing out on more fun and challenging/rewarding things you can do with your car… Don’t deny the laws of physics man, it will bite you in the @$$. FF is good under 250hp and 200lb ft, but go beyond that threshold and you’ll lose handling/drivability. You can choose to ignore the info and do what you like, so good luck making those Front Wheels of Fury buddy….
Hondakid on 23 February 2008:
A built b series does get good gas mileage. The more you make the head flow better, the better the gas mileage. Its not just that the weight of the car, after further reducing weight thru chasis, carbon fiber, and really light rims, good gas mileage. AWD loses gas through all that drivetrain. Dont let me hypermile, get some real serious mileage. Lets talk about cornering, hair pin turn, pull the e-brake and drift, my bad, Powerglide. You just need the right driver, ME! Lol
Hondakid on 24 February 2008:
I cant stress how the cars has to be custom. I want to see neon again. AND Bass! This franchise was not built on speed but style. When f&f came out, it wasnt the need for speed, but the looks of speed with inexpensive cars. It was about hanging out on friday nights and cruising thumping bass. If they can bring back that feel, it might be the best f&f ever
Stealthy Scooby on 24 February 2008:
Please. Don’t embarrass yourself… You think all those mods “reducing weight thru chasis, carbon fiber, and really light rims” only pertain to FF vehicles??? Your denying the laws of physics more and more every time you talk… Your making real FF racecar drivers like Randy Pobst look bad. Read this to avoid embarrassment next time:

Nissankid on 24 February 2008:
i think that they should have Brian drive the new Nissan GT-R and Dom drive the new Camaro, if they could get their hands on one.
Nissankid on 24 February 2008:
I think they should have O’Connor drive the new Nissan GT-R and Dom should drive the new Challenger, if they could get their hands on one.
Stealthy Scooby on 25 February 2008:
Please, No Neon. No nasty candy paint and graphics (unfortunately, based on the pics, its still gonna have it). No more SR20DET’s on Civics. Its called the FAST and the FURIOUS, not the SLOW and the RICEY. I don’t want another iteration of 2Fast2Furious…. The “Show Scene” had its time in the limelight… Its time for the “Performance Scene” to have its 90 minutes of fame…. Isn’t the “Time Attack” movement the rage these days anyway?
HondaKID on 25 February 2008:
It’s time to make an awd civic. Lets see how you evos and sti handle against that. And don’t say it is impossible. That would be a real sleeper. Hey, that’s a good idea, f&f should have an awd civic in the movie. It will keep with the theme that honda civics started this franschise and can end it with customize civics. That’s what this franchise has been about too. Speending loads of cash in a subcompact to make it fast.
SPEEDdemon on 25 February 2008:
WTF?! yo, give brian his Skyline back! that was the best car in ANY of the movies and it had such a friggin small part in 2fast2furious. thats gay. he should get his skyline back and KEEP it for the whole movie.
Hondakid on 25 February 2008:
Its really coming f&f4. Its going to be good bc Vin diesel back. Do you know how bad it would be for him to make this movie and not be better than f&f1. This movie can either make or break his career. He must know something. To do a movie almost 10 yrs later is a big gamble. This movie can also put Justin Lin in center of attention too. If the movie is good the people will come. Jus give the people what we want. Tuners vs Muscle. Competion. But then unite them to come together. Thats way every car has a spotlight. Do like Barack Obama, “Unite”, all car fans. We are ready to embrace all cars, whether you drift, drag, rally, whatever. All together for the fallen, Letty. LET’S RIDE! FAST AND THE FURIOUS FOREVER!!!
Stealthy Scooby on 26 February 2008:
There IS an AWD Turbo Civic. Its called a 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STi lol
In all seriousness though, Honda DID make a 4wd Civic… back in 1991 (4wd civic wagon)… FYI it was even slower than its FWD versions… If this idea was thrown at Universal, I’m betting they would rather use the 08 STi and “re-badge” it as Civic than waste TONS of money on shoehorning a Mitsu/Subaru AWD drivetrain and motor as well as reinforcing the Civic’s light fragile body to work “decently” with its new powertrain… With all those mods, the weight of the car will probably be similar to an STi or EVO, and I bet it would still handle worse. BIG Waste of money and a bad idea. There is a reason why these new AWD turbo sport compacts are porky… Its a little something called Chassis Rigidity. Mitsu and Subaru didn’t do all this research on their flagship cars just to turn around and say, “hey, why not just use a civic and make it AWD and turbo?”.
mstevie192 on 27 February 2008:
i most dissapointed by the new mustangs
they’re crap, when it comes to american cars
keep it old school
as for the new subaru, it deserves a chance to prove
its self
Ding on 27 February 2008:
I think that Dom’s car should be old school like the mustang GT 500 and that Paul Walkers should be something like Norris Design 800 bhp Evo something with a little poke if you have not see it go on u tube trust me it fuxxxxx fast
Hondakid on 27 February 2008:
My favorite muscle cars are the 60’s and early 70’s cars. For one thing, they are not cars you see all the time. I just saw that video of the cementery that Vin Diesel will be shooting and there is a honda civic in it. Yay! They didn’t forget about us. The Honda people are going to show for the movie definety now.
Racerman on 27 February 2008:
ok im not gonna dog on the mustang…yes original…and yes everywhere
but the subaru…i mean come on give him his dignity, i mean seriously
no one cars about the cars performance, it looks fast in the movie anyway. We want STYLE like in FAF1,2,and,3, the cars are bangin, i mean who thought that “the hulk” was gonna show up. i mean really
so give these guys the respect they diserve
Stealthy Scooby on 27 February 2008:
I disagree. Only the show and lowrider scene don’t care about performance. The rest of the import racing scene actually does. A dropped 2008 Sti on 18 inch VOLK light weight racing rims and a big fat FMIC WILL DEFINITELY look faster than an Accord with big 20 inch chrome rims, a shopping cart wing, and ugly Tribal vinyl decals. In addition to that, the 08 STi actually has the performance to back up its looks. People that know about cars WILL notice the difference. Normal people will be EDUCATED on what’s actually fast and what’s is actually ricey, then everything will be good in the Import Scene.
Its called “The FAST and the Furious”, not “The FAKE and the Furious”.
sento7 on 28 February 2008:
I’ll ultimately be ok with the movie as long as John Singleton is 1/2 a planet away and has ZERO input into the move.. F&F2 was made Cherry2000 look like a Ben Hur Epic.
One of the problems I see is that all the ‘ import scene’ advisors are coming from Cali.. and frankly they don’t and can’t represent the rest of north america where some of us don’t have the smog nazi’s. Hell locally there are more Skylines then LHD FD’s and FC’s. I’m actually allowed to do a swap that’s NOT congruent with the same model year of car. ( i’m pretty sure by F&F6 we’ll see all hybird prius and electric Smart cars if the producers continue to use California as a basis for the ‘ performance car scene’..
Tom on 28 February 2008:
The NSX in the video preview should no doubt be the main car for Brian. Before anyone speaks against this, do me a favour and follow these steps:
1)go on google
2)type “NSX-R”
3)do some homework on it.
I should know, since I own an NSX. All motor with GT-one ver 5.1 SS exhaust(If you want to hear how it sounds, go to youtube.com and search this exactly “nsx supercharged GTone” and watch the first video.) Make sure you turn up the volume. A turbo or high boost SC NSX will keep up and the turbo will no doubt embarrass the new GT-R. (Do some more homework!)
hondaaccordv6 on 28 February 2008:
Being that Brian is an FBI agent now, they should probably give him a Super charged Crown Vic Interceptor lol jk. I think they could have made better choices though. Hopefully, these are used in the beginning of the movie and they both crash or blow up or something. I do agree with most people here and Dom should have an old school muscle car(maybe a late 70s Trans Am?) but for Brian maybe the new Eclipse or a G35. It doesnt really matter how fast the cars really are because in the movie they’re gonna make them seem fast anyway(remember all it takes is adjusting a speedometer and random shots of gears shifting lol)
geometrix on 28 February 2008:
i want to see the new nissan gt-r in this!!! Brian had the r34 in number 2 but for like the first 5 minutes of the movie. Nismo all the way babyyy!!
Tom on 28 February 2008:
I would also like the gt-r to be in it. I think they should start using more exotic cars. NSX and GT-R……..perfect
Brendan on 29 February 2008:
First, I would like to say, please for the love of everyone reading these comments, learn how to write. Some of the stuff I’ve seen is embarrassing. Learn how to write and then come back and post.
Now for the cars. Just so everyone knows I am no where close to being an expert on cars, but I know what I like to see. I have no problem against the Mustang but does it have to be an 07? The older Mustangs had that fiercer, more intimidating look to them. I do realize that in today’s movies it’s all about what corporation can get their foot in the door quickest but come on. As far as the Subaru is concerned, I think it’s great they’re using Subaru’s because it’s one of the cars you never really see in these movies. My question is why? Why use the newer Subaru? Take an older Subaru and customize it.
There is definitely the time to change parts of this movie. I mean they JUST started filming(I think). It’s not due out until 2009 so there’s still time. I’m sure it will be great.
Bigmike on 29 February 2008:
i say its gonna to be a rush that mustang is a beast from the looks of it with 550hp from a supercharged i might be in it with my 06 GTO twinturbo
hondaaccordv6 on 29 February 2008:
From what I remember, Dom’s RX-7 was left where the Civics were parked, so technically, he could get that back or his sister could. I just think it would be cool if they brought the RX-7 back. And yea, I know it was used in the second one too.
lance lavage on 3 March 2008:
if some one who is working on the movie reads this you have to tell the people that those two cars are both really lame. how does vin diesel go from driving a mazda rx-7 to driving a stupid looking ford mustang? and paul walker goes from driving one of the most wanted cars on the planet the nissan skyline gtr r34 and he also had the evo both of which kick that subaru’s ass. i love all 3 of the fast and the furious movies and i was hoping there would be a fourth one comming out but with those two cars as the main cars im not sure if im going to like the new one very much

u guys r giving the sti such bad credit , but u guys haven’t seen in for real a friend of mine has his own garage where they sell subaru they have the new sti in there and it looks awesome i would love to own that car
soobiesoobiedoo on 5 March 2008:
08 subie isn’t my favorite look for subaru BUT do some home work before knocking it! they have shown the STi in all the movies just not made a big deal about them. it will be kool to see the car in action.
colby on 5 March 2008:
Well i think they should be driving cars that are like 2000 - 2005 because it’s suposed to be a prequel and all. They should start out with some rally cars cuz it is in demonican republic. lol
Stealthy Scooby on 6 March 2008:
People don’t seem to bother reading the earlier posts…. Let me school the uninformed and the ignorant yet again. The new STi has 305 hp and 290lb ft of torque…. This makes it go 0-60 in 4.5 secs and 1/4 mile in 13.3 secs STOCK…. That’s FASTER than a G35, 350Z, a new Mustang GT, RX-7 (hell, most of the cars within it’s 35k price range), and it’s DEFINITELY on par (if not a bit faster acceleration-wise) with a U.S. Lancer Evolution. Longer Wheelbase and shorter overhang as well as the Hatchback configuration MAKES the new STi more COMPETETIVE in WRC Rallying than the the older STi Sedan or even the older Lancer Evolution.
If something like a civic can be in this movie, then a car with actual racing pedigree like the new STi should have no problem filling the role of the main character’s ride. Also, AWD + Turbo is better than FWD + VTEC… Sorry Honda.
Wullie on 6 March 2008:
How many people who have posted have ever been at the lights and another driver has admired there standard car with only engine mods ? not many i bet. Cars get noticed because of there looks, not because of there performance, sure, most cars look very good and perform better, but cars only get noticed when the bodywork and exterior are in good shape, its all down to being individual and standing out, so it doesn’t matter what the cars have under the bonnet, if the car looks good and they tell you they’ve put an R34 engine in a Civic (obviously just an example), you’d believe them as long as it looked real, watch the 1st movie again at the part when Brian picks up Dom after he dumps the RX-7, listen to the engine noise and gear changes from the eclipse, it sound in pretty good shape considering the floor from the passenger side was missing and he basically blew the engine in his first race. The cars don’t need to perform in the movie, they can make them sound good regardless, they should concentrate on the looks, which is why the movie was so popular in the first place, as long as they tell you what the cars are running and what power they’ve got your imagination can do the rest, because as somebody said above, you want to go to the cinema for a couple of hours and just get lost in a movie that most if not all of us will come out of and drive around for an hour wishing it was us, you cant do this if they are driving cars some of us only dream of (Honda NSX for example)
Luis Rodriguez on 6 March 2008:
this is nothing compared to the over cars from the over movies, the mustang could work with a different paint job but the other car no no no, I own and have seen all the movies and they have some pretty sick rides……….overall you guys need to step it up if you want to make the next 2 movies a success
Stealthy Scooby on 6 March 2008:
You’re right. Cars get noticed because of their looks. But depending on how clean or ricey the car is made to look, reactions can differ. Out here in the REAL world, cars that are riced out are TOTALLY MADE FUN OF. A car that has nasty looking decals, fugly neons, and heavy chrome rims does not scream “Hey look I’m fast”. It screams “Hey look I don’t know how to fix up a car right”. You want to look fast? Put some carbon fiber panels, a BIG Front Mount intercooler, and some real quality light weight racing wheels like VOLK, WORK, or ADVAN, and watch Car enthusiasts flock to your ride and ask you what’s under the hood. And NO this look is DEFINITELY NOT standard. These alone will make the car look faster than any combination of ugly vinyl sticker, chrome, neon could ever hope to do. A person who can’t admire these subtle ques in a tuner car should be ashamed of calling himself a “car enthusiast”.
In short:
a “Civic” with Vinyl Stickers + chrome + neon undergrlows + small drum brakes + airbags/hydraulics = “Trying too hard pretending to be fast”
a “Civic” with a Big Front Mount intercooler + carbon fiber panels + few or no stickers + quality light weight rims + big brakes + low stance = “Looks fast and will kick yo ass”
I’ll give props to a cleanly fixed up car… But if I see a car that looks like that horribly done Eclipse Spyder from 2fast2furious, I’ll straight out point and laugh at it. Maybe I’ll even post it on the internet and let others make fun of it too.
PS: STi’s and Mustangs are not “expensive exotics” like the NSX, so a regular joe working a normal job doesn’t need to dream, he can actually OWN one.

these movies are all about ad space on screen, F&F franchise producers will use product from whomever pays them the most.. if that means some chinese ebay knock off shop pays up.. they use the parts..
it’s going to be as annoyingly bad as NFS pro street for ad space.
this movie will end up as a dvdrip download for me.

The name of the game for the producers is to fill the cinema, and filling the movie with crap cars is what they’re going to do to achieve their goal, its not right, but it will happen.
Ray Montoya on 10 March 2008:
I think they need to get the script right. do some research on cars and parts. does any one remember the famous line; you lucky that 100 shot of nos didn’t blow the welds on the intake? i have never had a performance intake that has welds for one thing they have all been machined out of aluminum. plus how are those 2 big bottles of nos only a 100 shot. those were like 2 pro shot fogger systems. plus they need to put some muscle cars in this movie. most people’s favorite car was the blown dodge anyways.
Stealthy Scooby on 10 March 2008:
Exactly. Don’t forget them talking about SR20DET’s on CIVICS in the first movie lol
The lingo/car-talk is ALL wrong on almost all the FnF movies (with the 3rd being at least a little bit faithfull)… I also agree that some old school american muscle should be shown, but I don’t really mind having “modern” american muscle in this new movie either, seeing as they are a bit retro styled anyway, and I think its a nice fair contrast to the import turbo/AWD rally side they’re trying to go by with the new STi hero car… Although Veilside IMO isn’t a nice choice for bodykits if they are trying to portray WRC/Rally styling… Well, gotta put some rice somewhere on the subbie to offset its performance aspect right? lol
Brendan on 11 March 2008:
Do any of you really think the producers or directors are going to take ANY of your suggestions into consideration? Well I can tell you they’re not. They have better writers than someone writing in the comment section of some random website. I do agree, they need to change the cars but lets face it they are never going to listen to you. As said in previous posts, movies are all about corporate advertising. They have a vision and they’re sticking to it.

I see Brians character has downgraded from a Evo to a Scooby! Hope you realise the Scooby got really bad reviews in Britian!
YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND!! downgrade to and STI? the STI has ALWAYS been better than an evo. stock sti is putting out more HP/tq than an evo with a smaller turbo and 5lbs less boost. people have already put out killer numbers on the STI too. it will grow on you once you see dyno charts. oh and the interior is beautiful. like a luxury race car
Stealthy Scooby on 11 March 2008:
Weird… In its Birthplace in Japan, The new STi is actually preferred over the new EVO ^.^ I’d call it an upgrade.
In its debut in P-WRC, the new GRB Hatch STi finished 2+ minutes AHEAD of the EVO ^.^
Must be a fluke ;p

You can tell me all you want, but I will still state my opinion. I could really care less whether or not the producers listen… I’ll voice my opinion, and its all up to them to either listen and keep it real, or ignore it and ruin the import scene with neons and chrome and uneducated ricer bs…
For now I’ll enjoy seeing uneducated ricers getting their Fwd bling-mobiles smoked by little subbie awd turbo hatchbacks.

I think Dom should drive the New Mustang Shelby GT500 SuperSnake…The SuperSnake has an output of over 700rwhp and thats just stock on the 5.4L that it comes with.
Think again on those rice burners….American Muscles Rule.
goodiesalguero on 13 March 2008:
the mustang is okay…but putting paul walker to drive that piece of crap in the new movie just ruins everything…what happened to the Evo?
Stealthy Scooby on 13 March 2008:
That 700+ hp is thanks to a big motor with SUPERCHARGER…. Plus that crappy drag coefficient limits the car to a sad 155mph top speed…. Kinda sucky for a car with 700+ hp…. Not to mention that dinosaur technology solid rear axle hampering this 700+ muscle car in the handling department lol An STi/EVO doesn’t even need 700+ hp to be as fast as a Supersnake (plus with the 700+ package, your warranty will INSTANTLY be voided by FORD, good luck fixing it when it breaks)… You should’ve mentioned the CORVETTE Z06 instead…

Vin’s car is nice but I hope the scooby is just a teaser cuz it wouldnt look right to be racing it in Cali and Mexico. I agree about the supra. Dom is sticking with an american muscle like he was after the credits of FF1. but Brian should have the supra, skyline, or get another eclipse and build it like it was in FF1 but faster and up to date
nissankid878947 on 24 March 2008:
not a big fan of the scooby if you ask me they should have used the skyline from f&f 2 . as for the mustang i think its a good fit you gotta admit it looks G (american muscle baby!)

they seriously need to re think the cars in this one…. if brian was goin to be a mom in this one yeh okay but lyk…. hes not lol… give him rx-3 i recon… yes i said it a rx-3 that would be a sick car for him in a ford blueprint colour…. full crome nose cone and strips:P that will suit him hard i recon…..

wtf? all hatchbacks kinda suck even the new sti? and what is up with graphics on the widebody mustang?
MachoCamaro on 28 March 2008:
Da new STi sucks! It might be a little faster and perform a little better than da older one, but da old one is 100000x better! At least with da old one, you can spot it a mile away and avoid racing it lol! Now you can’t tell one from the other! I lost pretty badly to a new STi in my camero today, but at least mine looks alot fastar! And will get beetches! Cameros rule!

Brain’s car just is not him. Look at the car history. Eclipse, Supra, 3000 GT, Skyline, Evo VII, and a Camaro. I just can’t see him in a hatch back after all of the other cars. If it has to be a hatch back i would like to see him in a Civic Type R. But if it can be any car i would like to see him in an Evo VII as for me that is the best looking Evo there is.
Hondakid on 12 April 2008:

Damn what is up with all the Subie haters? I don’t agree with the 08 styling either, I love the 04-05 sti alot better, but hooked up STI’s are quite fast and have just as much street credit as anything else out there, and are very capable of putting out high powered numbers, and anyone who has heard the rumble of the boxer engine knows that sound sweet. Let’s just hope they don’t go to crazy on some stupid looking graphics….. There will be some sweet cars in the movie no matter what anyway, otherwise it will not be a Fast and Furious movie.
TrickedMRS on 29 April 2008:
They should do away with the Mustang idea. That’s wack. They should do the new Nissan GTR as Vins car and keep the Supra from the first one and put another MRS in it like the blue one from the second one but with a bigger part!!!!!
gto_dreams on 12 May 2008:
You rice burner freaks need to understand that if it werent for american muscle setting the standard on racing you’d still be playing video games. You can add turbo’s to the little 4 banger but remember theres no placement for displacement period. We add the same stuff but create 4 times what you can generate. Whats a kicker is that american muscle has its hand in all racing an holding there own. But thats ok I can understand that your a driver in training an drive 4 bangers but when it comes to it your terified by the V-8’s admit it! The charger vs supra was the ultimate scene. Atrue gear head knows the truth of the winner. If you need a reminder the Lemans/ Tempest better known as the GTO was the first ever muscle car ever built so dont forget. But the imports have come a long way an keep up the good work tuners. I’m a mechanic an i like all cars buts thrilling to watch muscle vs imports.
