Brett Ratner’s “Tower Heist” is kind of like the “Rush Hour” movies, except Chris Tucker was apparently busy so Ratner had to get Eddie Murphy, and instead of a no-nonsense Jackie Chan, you get a no-nonsense Ben Stiller. Plus, there’s no kung fu in this one. Or at least, I didn’t see any in the trailer, which is for your viewing pleasure below. Eh, I suppose it’s alright, though it’s been a looooooooong time since I’ve voluntarily seen an Eddie Murphy or a Ben Stiller movie, and putting them in the same film doesn’t exactly get me all afluttered. You might feel otherwise, though, which is your right.
After the workers at a luxury Central Park condominium discover the penthouse billionaire has stolen their retirement, they plot the ultimate revenge: a heist to reclaim what he took from them.
Besides Stiller and Murphy, the film also stars Matthew Broderick, Téa Leoni, Casey Affleck, Michael Peña, Alan Alda, and Gabourey Sidibe.
The heist goes down November 4, 2011.
