The first trailer for David Twohy’s horror thriller “A Perfect Getaway” has arrived online, not that you were holding your breath for it. The film will probably slide into theaters without too much fanfare and leave just as quickly. It just doesn’t have that “hook” that will get people’s lips flapping. Looks like a decent thriller, though. A homely couple on vacation meets up with two couples, both of whom are pretty damn creepy, though the clean-cut ones sure give off that killer vibe, while the goatee guy and his silent girl look pretty safe. Or are they?
Cliff and Cydney (Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich) are an adventurous young couple celebrating their honeymoon by backpacking to one of the most beautiful, and remote, beaches in Hawaii. Hiking the wild, secluded trails, they believe theyve found paradise. But when the pair comes across a group of frightened hikers discussing the horrifying murder of another newlywed couple on the islands, they begin to question whether they should turn back. Unsure whether to stay or flee, Cliff and Cydney join up with two other couples, and things begin to go terrifyingly wrong. Far from civilization or rescue, everyone begins to look like a threat and nobody knows whom to trust. Paradise becomes hell on earth as a brutal battle for survival begins
Starring Chris Hemsworth, Timothy Olyphant, Milla Jovovich, Steve Zahn, Marley Shelton, Kiele Sanchez, Dale Dickey, and Wendy Braun. David Twohy writes and directs.
Get away August 14.
