Trailer Debut: Matt Damon and Steven Soderbergh’s The Informant

Now this is something you don’t see everyday: a movie starring Matt Damon and directed by Steven Soderbergh being intentionally wacky. That’s the idea behind “The Informant”, which has Damon playing a hapless suit who decides to turn government star witness. He does it very, very badly, too. Scott Bakula of Quantum Leap fame plays the fed trying to keep Damon from getting himself killed. Or fall down an elevator cause, you know, he’s kind of a moron. Looks like funny stuff, actually. Trailer for “The Informant” below.

The U.S. government decides to go after an agri-business giant with a price-fixing accusation, based on the evidence submitted by their star witness, vice president turned informant Mark Whitacre.

Starring Matt Damon, Frank Welker, Melanie Lynskey, Scott Bakula, Patton Oswalt, Tony Hale, Thomas F. Wilson, Joel McHale, and Eddie Jemison. Directed by Steven Soderbergh.
