Scott Adkins in Ninja (2009) Movie Image

Director Isaac Florentine has been hit and miss for me over the years, but from the looks of this trailer for his latest, the Scott Adkins-starrer “Ninja”, he may have a hit on his hands. Thanks to reader Action Fan, we have the first trailer for “Ninja” below. You want ninjas? You got ninjas. You want Scott Adkins dishing out pain? You got Scott Adkins dishing out pain. You want ninjas with machine guns … er, what? What’s a ninja doing with a machine gun? Oh well, I’m sure there’s some context there. Hopefully. Maybe he just ran out of shurikens?

The film stars Adkins as a westerner named Casey, who is studying Ninjutsu in Japan when he’s asked by the Sensei to return to New York to protect the legendary Yoroi Bitsu, an armored chest that contains the weapons of the last Koga Ninja. Somehow, cops, the mob, and a rival ninja enter the picture. Much death, sword slashing, and ninja ass kicking ensue.

Starring Scott Adkins, Tsuyoshi Ihara, Mika Hijii, Todd Jensen, Togo Igawa, Garrick Hagon, Miles Anderson, Valentin Ganev, Kenji Motomiya, and Nikolai Sotirov. Isaac Florentine directs.

Looks interesting if semi lowbudget. Ninja’s are making a comeback. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow in GI Joe and Rain in Ninja Assassin, and now this. Getting my ninja fix this year.

I’m thoroughly impressed. Now, if only Sho Kusuge’s “Return of the Ninja” would happen already.

Hahaha Not only is it funny that both me and the guy above me have hulk references for names, but I couldn’t have said it better myself. Return of the f’n ninja would be great. Especially since he has 2 sons who are action stars in Japan now. Passing of the torch would be insanely awesome. I am a little upset that Ninja is direct to dvd but I think it will be a good move for it. It is getting way more publicity and recognition than I would say Ninja Assassin so far if you look at how much it comes up on this site and others that i check out daily. Either way, I am ready for the ninja Renaissance. The “who would win…” arguments have already started between me and my friends.

He’s in Ninja Assassin as the head of the Ninja Clan I beleive. My second reason to see it.

Now we are going to have a bunch of people claiming to be ninja again like they did in the 80’s.
Quite interested in seeing both movies.
I like martial arts and martial inspired fights of any kind where people die.
Instead of the UFC we should have gladiator combat.
It would be way more interesting if the fighters knew that death was the only way out.
