Trailer for SyFy’s Children of the Corn Remake

Children of the Corn (Remake 2009) Movie, Horror Movie News, Videos — By Nix on September 24, 2009

I’ll be honest with you, I don’t really remember all that much from the 1980s version of “Children of the Corn” starring Linda Hamilton, but I do know this: South Park did a hell of a parody of it. Anyways, the Stephen King short story is apparently so good that there’s not one, but two “Children of the Corn” movies coming out. One will be a big-budget version from Dimension Films and will be shot in 3D, and the other, er, is coming out courtesy of the SyFy Channel starring Battlestar Galactica’s Kandyse McClure and Heroes’ David Anders.

When a young couple find themselves stranded in the isolated community of Gatlin, Nebraska, they discover that all of the town’s adults have been slaughtered by a religious cult of twisted children who worship a mysterious cornfield deity. Can these adults escape the fanatical wrath of these adolescent zealots, or will they become the next blood sacrifices to ‘He Who Walks Behind The Rows’?

The SyFy Channel version airs this Saturday, September 26 at 9/8C. Unfortunately I’ll be watching college football all day, so I’ll probably (happily?) miss it. Here’s a trailer for it in case you’re tempted, thanks to the boys at Quiet Earth.
