Transformers 4 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Scouring Hollywood for Hunks and Starlets

Who doesn’t want to join the cast of two sure-fire hits? No one, that’s who. (Or at least, no one with a half-decent agent/manager, anyway.) THR has released some juicy casting bits for two of Hollywood’s highest profile projects, including “Transformers 4″ and “Spider-Man 2″.

Transformers 4 (2014) Movie Title LogoFirst of, Mark Wahlberg may be the star of “Transformers 4″, but apparently he’s the “adult” star. The Michael Bay film is looking for two “young” stars to flee from killer robots alongside him, and from the sounds of the character descriptions, it appears we’re back to the “high school girl and her car racing boyfriend” plot point that was rumored a while back.

The girl will be the daughter of Wahlberg’s character, with actresses Isabelle Cornish (sister of Abbie Cornish of “Sucker Punch” fame), Nicola Peltz (“The Last Airbender”), Margaret Quallay, and gorgeous blonde Brit Gabriella Wilde (below) all up for the part.

As for the boys, Luke Grimes (“Taken 2″), Landon Liboiron (the annoying teen in “Terra Nova”), Brenton Thwaites, Jack Reynor and Hunter Parrish (“Weeds”) are up for the role of the race car driving boyfriend.

The Amazing Spider-man (2012) Movie ImageCasting for another major role in Marc Webb’s sequel to “The Amazing Spider-Man” is also picking up, with the latest character looking for a hunky hunk actor to play him being one Harry Osborn, Spidey’s high school chum turned greatest enemy. Osborn was originally played by James Franco in the Sam Raimi trilogy.

Which goes to show you: for all the talk of Webb’s Spidey being different from Raimi’s, the more they stay the same, am I right? They can change up the character’s origins all they want, but at the end of the day, it always ends up being the same-o, same-o, doesn’t it?

Anyways, the trio of hot young actors currently being considered for the role include Brady Corbet, Dane DeHaan (of “Chronicle” fame, below) and Alden Ehrenreich, who also has his own “Twilight”-wannabe franchise in “Beautiful Creatures” pending.

So who gets what role? I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
