Transformers 4 Will be Set 4 Years After Transformers 3

Michael BayNot that it matters really, but eh, in case you were curious, according to Michael Bay himself, the plot of “Transformers 4″ will be set 4 years after the events of “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”, which found the Autobots and humans destroying most of Downtown Chicago from those pesky Decepticons in order to save the world. Hey, whatever’s necessary, am I right?

The official news comes from Bay himself (via TMZ, of all places), who says:

The movie is going to continue four years from the attack on Chicago, which was in the last movie. It’s going to have the same lineage, but it’s going in a full new direction. It actually feels very natural how it’s going in that direction… We’re doing a lot of things that are really going to make it fresh and feel new.

As you probably know by now, Mark Wahlberg is the new savior of mankind, which I think is a new one for the actor. He’s saved his family (countless times) and his buddies (again, countless times), but I don’t think he’s ever been in a movie where he’s had to save the entire world yet. And, I think, this is his first shot at a big-time movie franchise, which I have to admit, surprised me even while I was typing it.

“Transformers 4″ bows in 2014.

I know it’ll be set four years after “Dark of the Moon”, but do you think Bay will find a way to bring Rosie Huntington-Whiteley back, or, like a kid with ADD, he’ll just swap a hot blonde supermodel for another hot blonde supermodel?

Good this needs a new direction. I liked the idea of the Autobots helping a UN type group and taking out terrorists. I think add to that Decepticons going into hiding and joing with said terrorists groups would be itneresting.Have like Galvatron emerge as a compination of Shockwave and Megatron, and create some new bots, that are like mindless drones…and welll you get the point.

This is a Bay movie, don’t get your hopes up with a “new direction.” This probably means they moved it to a new city or into space.

Into space is still a new direction lol.

I say go back to the beginning really. Give me movie versions of what the last two games were about. The war and fall of cybertron and the rise of Orion pax to optimus Prime!!!

Taking old, dying franchises into “space” is so cliche.

FRANCHISE NEEDS A NEW DIRECTOR AND CREATIVE TEAM – IN ADDITION TO A NEW STORY DIRECTION

    • Aegon the Conqueror

AMEN! At least we got a new star.

I hope we get a new female, she irritated the crap out of me from the get go. Also from a story point of view her introduction did not make sense. The whole TF2 went on about how she’s the only girl for him and how no one else could possibly be his gf. I know they had crap with Megan Fox but still.
I would love a prequel story about the war on Cybertron though.

Everything about her character was a “screw you!” to Megan Fox. Cheeky bastards.
