It would certainly appear that way. Via Moviehole, who reports on a conversation the guy who voiced (for like, a second or something) Bumblebee in Michael Bay’s “Transformers” told some website about his participation in the sure-to-be-made (I mean, come on, is anyone doubt it will get made?) “Transformers 2”. The fella’s name is Mark Ryan, and he seems to indicate that he’s already providing voiceover work for a prequel to what would eventually be “Transformers 2”.
The guys from Transformers World 2005 has more on it:
Skewed and Reviewed has posted an interview with Mark Ryan, who voiced Bumblebee in the movie and also acted as the onset voice of all of the Transformers during filming. At the end of the article, Mark provides information regarding some extras to the DVD release of the recently released Transformers movie as well as hinting at a prequel that will set up the second film. At this time, it is not confirmed if the prequel would be part of the DVD release for the current movie or some other type of individual release.
Bumblebee in the movie looked good, but I still miss the bug version in the cartoons. He’s just so much…cuddlier.
