Sam Winchester is getting a love interest, and she’ll be played by Liane Balaban (ALPHAS, COVERT AFFAIRS). The role won’t be a permanent one, though (but then again, since when has a Winchester love interest been a permanent gig on this show?), with Balaban set to play Amelia, described as “a tragedy-damaged soul” that “soon reveals herself to be a brave, sweet, smart, sarcastic woman.” [TVline]

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, currently in its third season, is also pretty popular with “the kids”, as they say.
