Promo images for the Starz Channel’s new show BOSS, thanks to a great performance from Kelsey Grammer (who knew had this in him?) and a nice supporting cast. And come on, let’s face it, you KNOW this is how politics actually goes down behind the scenes.
Who knew a show starring Steve Buscemi as a mob boss would work? Well it did. Buscemi stars as Enoch ‘Nucky’ Thompson. Yes, his name is Nucky. Hey, it’s a period show. People back then were a lot more lenient when it came to nicknames, I guess. Nowadays Nucky would never have survived elementary school, much less grow up to become a fearsome gangster. HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRE is currently in its second season, and here are some promo images from the show so far.
It looks like fantasy is in in 2011. You’ve got ONCE UPON A TIME on ABC and NBC has their own “storybook” fantasy show called GRIMM, though GRIMM is more of a monster-of-the-week show ala THE X-FILES and the like. Still, it’s got the same theme as ONCE UPON A TIME in that it takes the “storybook” element and makes them real. Or real-ish, anyway. First season promos from the show, currently airing on NBC, after the jump.
Oooh, boy. If you didn’t think THE WALKING DEAD’s “Pretty Much Dead” mid-season finale episode was the best THE WALKING DEAD in a while, you just aren’t fans of good TV. Here are promo images from the episode, which features quite a bit of spoilers in case you haven’t seen it yet.
He’s baaaaaaaaaack. Well, almost. Check out a quickie 30-second teaser trailer for the FX Channel’s modern Western JUSTIFIED, which commences with its sure-to-be asskicking third season next January on the cable network. Wonder what Raylan’s hat being left behind is all about? And why is Boyd seemingly chasing/searching for everyone’s favorite U.S. Deputy Marshal? Questions, questions… It’s curious, though, that the very first teaser trailer for the show doesn’t even future the leading man, but rather his arch nemesis/best friend Boyd (played by Walton Goggins).
I love me a good Western, so yeah, AMC’s new show HELL ON WHEELS is definitely in my, ahem, wheelhouse. I’m honestly not sure how far they can take the premise — a guy seeking revenge, but doing it along the railroads as they’re being built in the 1860s. I suppose the whole notion of the railroad being built and seeing it happen and all the blood and tears that’s shed along the way can be immensely interesting, but against the whole revenge background? That’s going to take some stretching there to last a whole series, I’d imagine. Anyways, promo images and trailer for HELL ON WHEELS Season 1, currently airing on AMC on Sundays after Season 2 of THE WALKING DEAD.
Two stunning posters for the CW’s supernatural show THE SECRET CIRCLE. Like the posters say, catch it on the CW on Thursdays 9/8 central.
Back in 2003, movie star Alicia Silverstone gave TV a shot with her very own romantic sitcom MISS MATCH. The show starred Silverstone as a Los Angeles matrimonial attorney who doubles as a high-end matchmaker. The catch, of course, is that her own love life is a mess. Yeah, saw that coming, didn’t ya? Anyways, it didn’t exactly work out, as the show only lasted one season. Besides Silverstone, MISS MATCH also co-starred Lake Bell, who, let’s face it, hasn’t had a whole lot of luck with TV shows. She’s been in a TON of canceled shows, and like Silverstone, seems to have more luck on the big screen. Too bad, because the sight of two lovely lasses like Silverstone and Bell on the same TV screen on a weekly basis was nothing to sneeze at. First (and only) season promos for MISS MATCH below.
Next week’s episode of SUPERNATURAL, the awesomely titled “Shut Up, Dr. Phil” will feature a reunion for BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (and ANGEL) alums Charisma Carpenter and James Marsters as a married couple, with Carpenter playing a witch with bad, bad powers. Which is a twist, as on their previous shows, it was Marsters who had the fangs and was prone to bad things. Promo images from the upcoming episode below.
So, uh, yeah, Bones is pregnant. The show sort of dropped that on us at the end of last season, and as season 7 commences, it looks like Bones is showing her baby bump. It probably helps that Emily Deschanel is also pregnant in real life. In any case, I guess there really wasn’t a whole lot of places for the show’s writers to take the show, and at least they didn’t make some stranger we’ve never heard of knock Bones up. If they had to get her preggers, making Booth the daddy was probably the way to go. Happy now, shippers?
The oh so lovely Alona Tal played Jo Harvelle in a couple of seasons of SUPERNATURAL before she was unceremoniously killed along with her mother in true, gritty SUPERNATURAL fashion — literally blown up battling hell hounds, if you can believe it. Well if you’re a fan of show, you probably already know that Tal will be guest starring as Jo once again — as some kind of spirit/ghost/apparition or some such, though judging from the trailer it’s a pretty big part, and not one of those blind-and-you’ll-miss roles. Glad to see Tal back, even if it’s just for a one-shot appearance. Wish they’d bring her back for good, though, the show is seriously lacking that hot blonde element…
