Tweeted Set Pics from X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Marc Webb and Bryan Singer have a lot in common. They’re currently directing highly anticipated sequels to comic book movies, and they’re tweeting machines, though Singer’s got a little work to do in order to catch up to Webb, who seems to tweet at least one pic from every shooting day on “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″.

Up first, here’s Bryan Singer with a couple of pics from the set of “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, one teased as a “pivotal meeting” and the other apparently Vietnam War-themed:

Marc Webb, meanwhile, has a couple of nice pics, one including the reveal of a cameo of interest (did he kind of spoiled it here? I think he might have), and some random shots from the set:

Could that possibly be William Stryker Sr., who was introduced in “First Class”, bringing his FBI findings of mutants to the new President Nixon?

    • Dedpool

Wouldn’t be surprised. Though after Brian Cox, and Danny Huston they need some serious gravitas in that role.

      • Juggernaut

I was actually talking about Stryker’s father, William Stryker Sr., who was played by Don Creech in “First Class”. He was a CIA agent (not FBI as I wrote above) who skeptical and dissaproving in the meeting with Moira, the man in black and other members of Division X when Charles and Raven show their powers for the first time.

That would make sense given Emma Frost’s escape at the end of the film and the anti-mutant tone of DOFP.

Just a thought but it could happen.

I’m hoping that William Stryker Jr. makes a cameo at some point as part of a government sponsered, mutant hunting group.

        • Dedpool

Oh yeah. Ok. But then Jr would decide to use the mutants as weapons and assetts not just exterminate them after the birth of his son and death of his wife. Gotcha.

          • Juggernaut

As we discussed before in the comments section of the article about Peter Dinklage’s role in DOFP, a team of genetically altered humans, the MRD, would be put together in response to the threat of a mutant uprising.

William Stryker Jr. doesn’t necessarliy need to be a part of that core team. Obiously there is no mention of his character being genetically altered in X2 or XO:W. However, they could ,make him in his early twenties during this time (i think he’d be about 21 or 22 given the info provided in X:FC).

If that is the case he could be a member of the governments forces at some capacity (guard, soldier, etc.). Even having him be a reluctant participant who was trying to seek his father’s approval by siding against mutants. He could befriend Dr. Steven Lang’s assistant, Kavita Rao, who believes that mutants are not mankind’s enemies but could actually be useful if utilized correctly.

This plot point could put the seed of using mutants for his own ends in his mind.

Then, during the conclusion of the film one of the evil mutants kills his wife. His infant son could however be saved. Thus his hatred of mutants begins.

          • Dedpool

Striker’s son killed his wife. Unless we’re trying to muddle thing sup more lol.

          • Juggernaut

Oh, yeah. I went off on a tear and completely forgot about that! LOL. I suppose with that being said a better idea would have him help Xavier and the X-Men. Then show a shot of him at the end of the film with his wife and infant son. A bit of irony a subtle foreshadowing of things to come.

          • Juggernaut

As for casting someone in the role of a younger version of William Stryker Jr. with gravitas after having been portrayed by Brian Cox in X2 and Danny Huston in XO:W, I’d cast Joe Dempsie, 25, who plays Gendry in Game Of Thrones! He resembles both previous versions a bit and would be able to bring the emotion range that the role would garner.

            What do you think?
