John Cusack’s spy actioner “The Numbers Station” opens April 26, 2013, though Image Entertainment already has the movie scheduled to hit DVD and Blu-ray a month later on May 28, 2013. A one-month window from theatrical release to DVD/Blu-ray? That makes me think the film isn’t going to get all that wide of a release come April 26th, but hey, I could be wrong.
In any case, if you’re looking forward to watching John Cusack back in the ass kicking saddle, then Kasper Barfoed’s “The Numbers Station” is probably what you’re looking for. Sure, it’s a tad generic, what with the whole evil CIA conspiracy angle and everything. Kinda old hat after four “Bourne” movies, don’t you think? But in case you haven’t gotten enough of this plot yet, check out two clips and a featurette for “The Numbers Station”.
After his latest mission goes disastrously wrong, veteran CIA black ops agent Emerson Kent is given one last chance to prove he still has what it takes to do his job. His new assignment: guarding Katherine, a code operator at a top-secret remote CIA “Numbers Station” where encrypted messages are sent and received. When an elite team of heavily armed assailants lays siege to the station, Emerson and Katherine suddenly find themselves in a life-or-death struggle against an unknown enemy. With the station compromised and innocent lives at stake, they must stop the deadly plot before it’s too late.
“The Numbers Station” also stars Malin Akerman, Liam Cunningham, Hannah Murray, Lucy Griffiths, Richard Brake, Bryan Dick and Joey Ansah.
As mentioned, the film opens April 26th, and hits DVD/Blu-ray a month later on May 28th.
