Yesterday I said it was falling mutants, and it looks like today it’s still falling mutants. Apparently Fox and Matthew Vaughn are freaking out about all that negative reaction to that bad photoshoppy looking photo of the cast in costume that came out on Tuesday, and are apparently trying to pretend like some kid in his basement made it up and it wasn’t theirs, when I think everyone knows better. In an attempt at damage control, the studio have been releasing “official” images and teaser poster left and right since. The latest — two new pics of Michael Fassbender as Magneto including helmet and James McAvoy as Professor X, doing his mind thing.
“X-Men: First Class” charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
Starring Michael Fassbender, January Jones, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Bacon, Jason Flemyng, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Lucas Till, Zoë Kravitz, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Edi Gathegi, Caleb Landry Jones, and directed by Matthew Vaughn.
