No wonder the boys and girls behind Zack Snyder’s “Superman” reboot decided to skip 2012 altogether and save their flying man for 2013. 2012 is a stacked year in terms of big-budget studio superhero movies. If you’re not into Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers”, there’s Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” to fill out your superhero britches. Not into that? Then there’s Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man”.
Personally, I’m having a hard time finding the enthusiasm for Webb’s film, especially with the last Raimi Spidey movie just 5 years in the past. I mean, wow, they couldn’t wait 5 more years to reboot this thing? I don’t really care how much of an “untold story” this version of Spidey is, it’s still Spidey in high school starting his career off as a crimefighter. I’ve already seen that. Not sure I really want to see it again so soon.
But hey, maybe that’s just me, you kids seem to love the new Spidey. Then you’ll love these two new posters. And in case you missed it, they recently released a Japanese trailer to boot.
Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Fields, Julianne Nicholson, Campbell Scott, Rhys Ifan, Irrfan Khan, Annie Parisse, Chris Zylka, and slinging into theaters July 3, 2012, which arrives 17 days before Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises”.
