Without a doubt, comic book fans young and old are loving what Marvel Studios is doing with their movies, creating one universe where Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and the Hulk exists within the same world. Previous spots for “Thor” have concentrated on the character, but these two latest spots seek to tie the character into Marvel’s movie universe. Via TheMovieBox.

Thor spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Starring Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Ray Stevenson, Rene Russo, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Clark Gregg, Colm Feore, Tadanobu Asano, Adriana Barraza, Joshua Dallas, Matt Battaglia and directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Both were very cool but the second was really awsome! Gives us a glimpse at what we may expect to see in the Avengers film. I really liked the shot of Thor swinging mjolnir like he does in the comics. I also thought thst the shot of Loki firing the enrgy blast from his staff was bad ass! Can’t wait to see this.

      MUCH AGREED my unstoppable friend!!!

Depool, Nix, Ulik, TSTI You lot all seem to be in the know when it comes to most of this stuff maybe you can help me out with a question that I’ve had since the cast of the Avengers film at Comicon was announced. Will Cheadle be “Don”ning the armor (see what I did there?) for the Avengers flick? There has been no mention of his involvment thus far that I know of. Is marvel planning a WarMachine stand alone film? Will he be in the third Ironman at all? As far as we know, right now, The Hulk will be included at some capacity. We also know that Edward Norton will be replaced (single tear) by Mark Ruffalo (Yeah!!!???). Does anyone know
        A) Will Betty and Thunderbolt Ross be returning?
        and
        B) If so, will they be played by Liv Tyler and William Hurt respectively?
Ok. So it’s more like four questions. Lol. Please, anyone, shed some light on these questions if you can. I would really appreciate it.

There was talk of a War Machine film a couple months back I believe. I also don’t think they will be using him in Avengers. I think they’re going with Iron Man but with Tony “not” officially in the suit, meaning to the public it’ll be a new pilot but in reality its Tony.

          Sent on the go.

          • Juggernaut

Any word of Liv Tyler or William Hurt reprising their roles? I suppose that they’re going for a variation of the Ultimates team. Using Black Widow and Hawkeye in place of Wasp and Giant Man. Everyone else from that series is accounted for (Hulk, Thor, Cap, Ironman).

          • Ulik

No, Black Widow and Hawkeye will be “officially” S.H.I.E.L.D operatives for Avengers #1. However, there hasn’t been any official news on Wasp and Giant Man being in The Avengers yet. The initial script for “Ant-man” by Wright and Cornish have caused continuity problems making it hard to place Henry Pym and Janet Van Dyne in The Avengers officially. Wright and Cornish are working on a second draft because of that and other reasons. Knowing Joss Whedon’s style and knowledge of The Avengers’ history, I speculate that he WILL introduce Pym and Dyne in some capacity in Avengers #1, possibly as just S.H.I.E.L.D scientists initially.

Prolly not. I don’t think they will appear and if they do their roles will be pretty small. I really don’t see them using them much other than to connect the movies if they aren’t going to use the Hulk as an obsticale in any capacity. I hope they at least get Hurt back. Tyler was good but her character isn’t exactly necesarry for the first Avengers flick.

Nothing I’ve heard or read says anything about Betty or her pop being back for the Avengers. Nothing on War Machine, either, though that could always happen, but it’s unlikely given the roster they already have. He’ll probably get spun into his own movie, but honestly, I don’t think he’s proven all that popular post-”Iron Man 2″ to generate any buzz about his own movie unlike ScarJo as the Black Widow.

          • Juggernaut

I see what your saying. I’d personally love to see a War Machine movie though! Like Ironman without all of the confusing science stuff! lol. I think that Cheadle is a strong enough character to carry a franchise of his own provided he’s given a good script and director. Still waiting for an official announcment of the Black Widow film too. If they do it they need to have it be in the same vein as Alias meets True Lies where she is in a lot of different disguises and using her different accents and fighting backgrounds. Nods to her other outfits and the other characters that have been Black Widow would be really cool too.

    BAD-ASS!!!!!!!!.

I just can’t wait for Thor and Cap. America. The pic of Odin looks awesome too. And you are correct, the second clip is amazing.

  • Lexavi80

There’s no word about Liv Tyler nor William Hurt nor Don Cheadle. As far as we know, given that the movie will be centered in the creation of The Avengers, the side characters won’t be involved (like Pepper nor Betty Ross). Maybe Thunderbolt Ross make an appearance but no word if he has been cast.

    • Juggernaut

Y’see I think that even though they are only supporting characters in their respective films, the inclusion of those characters ties everything together. Having Betty be included at some capacity, maybe working with S.H.I.E.L.D. to locate Banner or Pepper supplying Tony with info from Stark enterprises. Just cameos but realizing that they are a part of the universe. Hurt’s Thunderbolt is a must. He was perfect in the role and should be a intregal part of any Avengers film since he was already sort of tied in at the end of TIH. I really hate any change of actors in films but I have to say both Liv Tyler and William Hurt were superb in TIH. I think that Jennifer Connely and Sam Elliot were astetically good choices for those roles in Ang Lee’s Hulk, plot aside, but the cast in Letterier’s film was great! Even Eric Bana whom I love was bested by Ed Norton. I say bring on the cameos!

Aww dude, I never even thought of Pepper Potts not getting in there, now i am sad, Gwenyth Paltrow is epic and Ironman needs her, Hulk doesn’t need Betty, not having her there will make the avengers have to work together to calm his anger, but seriously pepper potts has gotta be in there

@Ulik and @ Dedpool- I really hope that they do introduce Van Dyne and Pym in either Captain America:TFA, Thor or in the third Ironman or Avengers (whichever comes first). They are a huge part of the Avengers. Not having them would be like not having Jean and Scott in a first X-men film. It makes no sense. Like Ulik said, set them up as S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists in any of the upcoming films and then have the Ant-Man movie, whenever that is coming out, feature them and then join the Avengers in the second installment.

    • http://www.originalgeekspodcast.com/ Dedpool

Only way to really do it. I say intro them in Cap:TFA at the end as being the scientist who Steve’s body is brought to after its found. Then have them as minor characters in the “Avengers” doing “minor” things that would lead into major events, like working on the Ultron project, Pym particles, etc.

      • Juggernaut

Absolutely. That would be the ideal ste up for them. Maybe like you said the S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists that get Cap in TFA. Then in Avengers show them working on the Ultron project as cameos or supporting characters. Another cameo or two in Ironman 3 leading into their own film later that year. By the time Avengers 2 came about they could be full fledge team members ready to help the team defeat and capture Ultron. That would be awsome!
