Two Peculiar Trailers for Zhang Jiabei’s Hong Kong Horror Flick Midnight Heart

What is Zhang Jiabei’s upcoming horror flick “Midnight Heart” all about? It’s hard to say, really. The first trailer for this intriguing Hong Kong shocker is completely silent, which makes deciphering its content more than a little difficult. The second clip makes things a little clearer, but not by much. All you really need to know is that a) the story looks incredibly twisted, b) the film features Simon Yam in a prominent role, and c) Hong Kong horror movies are almost always entertaining. They might not be the best pictures on the planet, mind you, but at least they’re watchable. Most of the time, anyway.

Big thanks to Film Smash and 24 Frames per Second for all the snazzy information. The aforementioned trailers have been embedded for your pleasure.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided.
