Check it out, kiddos, the first posters for Tony Jaa’s new historical martial arts ass kicker, “Ong Bak 2″, has arrived online courtesy of the boys over at TwitchFilm. As you would imagine, one poster showcases Jaa’s impressive ability to kick ass and neglect to take names; and of course, being the Thai patriot that he is, Jaa is of course mounted on top of an elephant WHILE in the progress of kicking some dude’s ass.
Jaa makes his directorial debut with this one, and no, in case you were wondering, this has nothing to do with the original “Ong Bak”, which was set in modern Thailand. Curiously, Jaa’s character in this one is also named Ting, the name of the first “Ong Baks” lead, also played by Jaa. This one is a historical epic. Well, as historical as you can get without it being, you know, true. Anyways.
Here’s what Twitch had to say about the plot:
In this one Jaa stars in a period piece as a poor orphan boy raised by a collection of martial arts masters from across Asia and ends up an expert in all, fusing the styles into a comprehensive fighting style.
