So, the majority of people just saw the bright lights and CG look and went – “Urrrh, I don’t get it”. Not even paying attention to plot or detail.
OK, its an aquired taste, you either love it or hate it, but I really think its a blast to watch, its essentially CG anime with live action actors scanned in. Everything is hyper real and as the opening credits suggest, very comic book like. A moving comic book.
I only saw the unrated cut, apprently it has more plot exposition, and I don’t understand why most people don’t understand what is happening in the film.
Each to his own I suppose, but I watch it for a bit of escapist fare and a enjoy a different style of film now and again. Its a better futuristic action yarn than ‘Aeon Flux’ to be sure.
