Let’s see, if I was the producer of “Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans”, and I had a choice between slapping a smoking hot pleather wearing Rhona Mitra on the first poster of my movie or a pale, skinny English dude sitting on a throne, who do I pick? Well, since the skinny guy has been in all three “Underworld” movies, and of course because I’m a totally clueless Hollywood suit who has no idea that 90% of the selling point of the “Underworld” movies was watching a really hot English chick in tight black pleather, I of course assume that fans of the franchise will want to be rest assured that the skinny guy was back for the sequel. See? Hollywood suits totally get their audience. Anyways, here’s the first poster for the third “Underworld” movie, starring old English guy Bill Nighy. Cause, you know, that’s what the kids pay money to see these days.
The prequel story traces the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires known as Death Dealers and their onetime slaves, the Lycans. In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian (Sheen) emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Sonja (Mitra), in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.
Starring Rhona Mitra, Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen, and Shane Brolly. Veteran special effects man Patrick Tatopoulos directs.
