A TV version of that little tale of vampires and werewolves and that little secret war of theirs? According to Len Wiseman, who directed the first two “Underworld” movie and is producing the third one, “Rise of the Lycans”, there has been “a lot of talk” about just such a thing. Of course, one should take this with a grain of salt. Whenever a movie is about to open, producers are always going around talking about pie-in-the-sky ideas like trilogies, franchises, and spin-offs. Who makes a movie nowadays in Hollywood without thinking they have the next great thing?
Says the Wiseman to Bloody-Disgusting:
“There’s a lot of talk about a television series, Im looking into that,” he tells B-D exclusively, “if I could be very involved and can be a certain way, I’d be very interested in that.” He continues, “We had always hoped to do a trilogy, now that we completed that trilogy it’s kind of open, if people can join us and go back in time – and then leap forward, I’d like to go jump all across the time line.
Wiseman seems game for a TV version of the “Underworld” franchise, and if they can spin “Blade” off into a TV show — um, okay, let’s not talk about the Blade TV series. Following a sexy vampire who tends to fall in love with her hairy enemies would sure be a lot easier than watching an ex-rapper named Sticky Fingaz trying to act, but maybe that’s just me.
