Watching creepy trailers for scary movies when you’re suffering from insomnia isn’t really a good idea. Just when you think you’re starting to get sleepy, you stumble across something like the preview for “Atrocious” and the whole thing goes to shit. Of course, the clip’s effectiveness might have something to do with the late hour, the eerie stillness outside of my living room window, and the fact that my cat keeps staring strangely at the front door. Maybe it’s just all in my head. Whatever the case may be, the embedded preview for this Spanish “lost footage” flick is downright creepy.

Before jumping in, a quick synopsis:

In April 4th of 2010, Quintanilla family was found murdered in their country side house. Police reported the existence of 37 hours of recorded evidence. “Atrocious” shows the real images of such evidence. Quintanilla family traveled to their old farm house in Sitges, where Christian and July investigated about the Legend of the Girl in the Garraf woods. Both of them used to record all day whatever they did. On the fifth day of their arrival they were found dead under strange circumstances. The film shows the last five days of life for Cristian Quintanilla and his siblings. It also shows the strange situations that they lived in those moments and which remain unexplained.

Author: Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.

The found footage sub genre will not go away will it?!?!? That being said, it doesn’t look bad.
